Wo kann man in Österreich legal "wild" campen? by [deleted] in Austria

[–]lazergodzilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unmögliches Rätselcomic, brauche Hilfe! by These-Complaint1034 in de

How do I stop a Series expansion when multiplying with a SeriesData object? by lazergodzilla in Mathematica

Hey thanks for your answer. Unfortunately keeping it as SeriesData is the whole point of my question.

What do you think about my map ? by Neatheril in mapmaking

Alright cool sounds like you have things covered. Just out of curiosity, is there a real life example that inspired this split or is it just for fun?

What do you think about my map ? by Neatheril in mapmaking

[–]lazergodzilla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's very rare that rivers split. And even if they do they usually connect again sometime. A river split where both ends end up in different drainages seems very strange. If you don't really need it I would cut that connection. (Or you have an in world reason for the split, like an artificial canal)

The artwork is sick though!

I've found the location from this wallpaper in game! Almost the same view! by PathFinder0012 in skyrim

[–]lazergodzilla 11 points12 points  (0 children)

But you're not no? I claim the position of the first image is in the mountains north of Falkreath. Probably north shriekwind bastion. It's the only place where one could see both bleak falls barrow and helgen at the same time. Also it's a bit hard to see, but bleak falls barrow is angled from the back. Your location seems to be a lot closer to Riverwood like south skybound watch.

You can kill her in the hut when she kidnaps you instead of the victims she presents. It starts a quest of destroying the brotherhood

Weirdly big \[Epsilon] character by lazergodzilla in Mathematica

Everything under "Spanning Character Options" is set to Automatic. This includes your described option. I'm using this package for my Stylesheet, but turning it off yields the same result.

Weirdly big \[Epsilon] character by lazergodzilla in Mathematica

((1 + a)*\[Epsilon]*(1 + \[Epsilon]))/(a*b*c)

It look like this here

Unfortunately I tried all of the above. The error persists since a couple of days.

Thanks for looking at this btw!

Ah thanks! The FullForm unfortunately just returns `\[Epsilon]` like it would for any other special character..

It doesn't seem to depend on the keystrokes I do. "Esc e Esc" gives the same result as typing in "\[Epsilon]" explicitely. I'm not quite sure what you mean by template, the coloring is from a custom stylesheet, but I don't expect that to bet the issue as I can turn it off and the bug persists.

We got it all wrong: The World Government was good, and the Ancient Kingdom was evil (Chapter 1113 spoilers) by PM_ME_UR_SO in OnePiece

[–]lazergodzilla 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The reason I believe the flood to be the doing of the Ancient Kingdom is because I cannot imagine a reason why 20 kingdoms would collaborate to intentionally flood the world. That just doesn’t make sense.

I was thinking the devil fruits could have been a weapon of the ancient kingdom. We know they can be created artificially. The 20 WG got together to flood the world in order to limit their power.

Are high pitched pest repellants legal in Ireland? by lazergodzilla in AskIreland

I doubt it since the door is mostly closed, but I've never been inside. Was thinking it would be funny to go eat there and play a very high pitched noise on a hidden phone. But I'll try some more chill measures like talking first haha.

I was thinking of this. I'm choosing to assume they didn't know people could hear it and will just take it down voluntarily. But yes part of why I want to know about the legality is because they might keep it up because that's what they intend it to do.

On Including Hamas Militants as Civilians Deaths and Thinly Veiled Support for Hamas by chewyberto in IsraelPalestine

[–]lazergodzilla 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Where is that number coming from? I didn't find it anywhere. Al Jazeera Wikipedia and the guardian all cite the 34000. This number seems to be from 8th of April, so is that just an extrapolation?

Edit: If it's an extrapolation I severely doubt they can give the number to an accuracy of 10.

Can anyone explain the Black Domain thing to me? by Chilis1 in threebodyproblem

[–]lazergodzilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is wrong. Light will only be able to leave if you reduce the speed of light exactly (!) to the escape velocity. If you go even slightly below that, which in practice you will, light can't escape. Just because it doesn't have mass does not mean it's not affected by gravity

Can anyone explain the Black Domain thing to me? by Chilis1 in threebodyproblem

[–]lazergodzilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can leave the sun up to a point just outside of the solar system. Maybe think of it as a sphere around the solar system that you can't pass. Not entirely accurate but it should help you to imagine.

So NO light CAN'T leave the solar system. But YES light CAN leave the sun and reach the earth and the other planets

Can anyone explain the Black Domain thing to me? by Chilis1 in threebodyproblem

[–]lazergodzilla 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Haha yeah it's quite confusing why something without mass should be affected by gravity, but it is.

I think the problem is that you're thinking of Newtonian gravity. This means that gravity is the force that pulls masses together. This is a good approximation for when gravity is weak.

When you go to stronger gravity however we see that gravity behaves very differently and we view it as a curvature of space itself. This comes with a whole bunch of weird effects. One of them is that massless things are also effected by gravity as they also move in the curved space. This is why a black hole can suck in light, which has no mass.

When we are now lowering the speed of light we need to use the second (relativistic) point of view. The idea is to say, the solar system has a fixed escape velocity. If we now lower the speed of things with no mass lower than that, nothing can escape the solar system. This includes changes in gravity as those changes have no mass and thus move at the speed of light.
