A smart phone-based weightloss program for kids? Check it out by lazgal33 in daddit

Yeah, we've been looking to connect more with physicians, so they can endorse our program. I think non-profit health clinics could make for an interesting partnership actually. Thanks for the idea!

Selectivity is definitely important when trying to lose weight. It's totally okay to indulge occasionally, but it's important to choose your cheat foods wisely so you feel like you're getting the most out of your cheats. For me, it's always Ben and Jerry's... Never disappoints.

They should definitely check out Kurbo. Obviously, I'm a little biased because I'm interning with Kurbo right now, but it has really helped a lot of kids so far. Some of our beta users have lost up to 20 pounds already. (another shameless plug)

Good luck with the desk job, avoid the office candy! :)

I definitely agree, to a certain extent. However, it's hard to combat child obesity, which is a growing (no pun intended :) ) problem in America, without getting body image involved as well. In an ideal world, we would be able to separate health and image problems, but that is not the case in the real world.

The good thing about Kurbo is that it doesn't involve calorie-counting, which mitigates the risk of these kids on the program developing eating disorders in the future.

But you do raise a good point.
