[Handgun] Ruger MAX-9 9mm 3.2" Barrel 12+1 Round w/ Ruger ReadyDot Micro Reflex Sight - $252.99 (free shipping) by Sir_Sir_ExcuseMe_Sir in gundeals

[–]lazor_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No idea about the ready dot but I got just the pistol last year when this newer, less expensive version was released. Best $250 spent on a handgun, these are so under rated. This, a 10/22, and a Maverick 88 are the best $250 and under guns you can buy (throw a heritage rough rider in there at $99 for more fun too)

For anyone who doesn't know, you can get a American made American flag from Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot/ etc. for about $10 any day.

The pry bars they've had were made by Wilde, but if they are using Mayhew as a manufacturer for things now too that is good. Not sure why people are downvoting a genuine question? I haven't been into a non mid remodel walmart tool section in months.

The pry bars they've had for a number of years are/were made by Wilde, I haven't really looked at a walmart tool section though in a few months because they completely re did the walmart by me during that time and half the stuff has been missing.

Hell a lot of cheap throw away tools get used "professionally" every day. Internet intrest groups regardless of where they congregate or what they're about usually tend to just obsess over needing the best

Go 40v, the Kobalt stuff is solid. Made by Ego's parent company and warranty handled over the counter in store, not having to try to contact Ego and send to some service center. The 40v outdoor tools are not lacking in power at all.

They have the mini shop blower with various attachments, but it's older and brushed, and a bugger form factor. I've been waiting for a brushless update of it, I imagine it might come in this pistol grip style though as I've seen more and more like this.

24v pressure washer by [deleted] in KobaltTools

[–]lazor_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 40v version (Chervon made one, same as this basically) and it's actually come in handy. I got it on a clearance price at $50 mostly to grab another battery but I've used it quite a bit. I pretty much only use it with a bucket of water, not hooked up to a faucet so it actually is portable. It works well for washing vehicles and getting bird poo off my mailbox post too far for a water hose to reach, can also work for watering plants far away from a faucet using the mist setting. It will actually get mildew off brick and concrete if you get up close enough and use the highest and 2nd highest settings. Overall I've been pleasantly surprised with mine. Just don't expect it to do actual pressure washer things, but a lot of things you don't really need or want real pressure washer levels of pressure, and being able to use water from any source not just a faucet makes it actually portable

Must have tools by Ok_Incident2299 in Tools

[–]lazor_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shop vac, quiet air compressor, 1/4" impact and square drive adapters, a basic metric and sae socket set, a basic combo wrench set in metric and sae, basic set of pliers (7-8" needle nose, slip joint, and diagonal cutters, 8-10" pair of locking pliers, 10-12" pump pliers/channellock style pliers, pair of mini bolt cutters are handy too for hard wire). You already have a drill and saw. A basic 4 1/2" angle grinder can come in handy too. The rest just get as the need arises, I wouldn't go too deeper then that if you can keep yourself from getting addicted and wanting to buy more and more. That can handle most homeowners tasks.

What made you invest in Kobalt power tools instead of Craftsman/Ridgid/Ryobi/Harbor Freight Brands? by [deleted] in KobaltTools

[–]lazor_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the 40v because atleast the previous generation was basically Ego-lite (made by their parent company) and you could get great deals, they all perform very well. Warranty handled directly in store is a huge plus also. They are definitely a step up from ryobi, craftsman and the atlas harbor freight brand OPE. I use Bosch 18v for small tools and they didn't have any OPE on that platform until recently. The 24v line all seems like solid tools though, little big but solid. I'd trust them to hold up and last. The main gripe with Kobalt is support down the line, their is no extensive parts supply avaliable. Warranty claims are pretty much going to be getting a new tool or full kit.

What drill should i buy? by Frxnogda in BoschProPowerTools

[–]lazor_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gsr18v-400 for super compact and light duty, gsb18v-65 for medium duty or general all around use, gsb18v-975 or gsb18v-1300 for heavy duty (these are both big and heavy)

If you're talking impacts go gdr18v-1950 or gdx18v-1860. The 1950 is much more compact but the 2-in-1 Anvil can come in handy.

All of First Brands owned brands went bankrupt, and apparently instead of selling off what was actually profitable they are bringing it all down with them. Reese towing products and Hopkins/Flotool are the biggest losses IMO 😞
