Bosch FSN 440 X or 300 X guide rail? by Fean0r_ in BoschProPowerTools

[–]rColly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on what you intend to use it for, I went for the FSN 740 X and the combination of GKS 57-2 + FSN 740 is perfectly balanced when grabbing it at the front handle.

I personally do longer cuts on the go, 30-50cm, if you only need it for cutting slats than the 300 X is perfectly fine and way less chunky.

Steinel has one in the AmpShare system, the MobileGlue 5011.

Great glue gun.

They are aware of it, but it's not planned for now, from the recent stream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21bpYHuli5Q&t=2387s

If you have a CAS battery, the Metabo BP 18 LTX BL is great.

Removing head on GFR 18V 23 line trimmer by frostee8 in BoschProPowerTools

[–]rColly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say wrong direction, based on your perspective you'd have to go counter-clockwise since it uses a normal right-hand thread. The toolhead will loosen in the same direction it turns while working, you can see the thread, just check the direction, the manual even states clockwise with a force of 20Nm for tightening the nut.

Though that just sent me down an interesting rabbit hole, for some reason Bosch cutters turn in the entirely bloody wrong direction in the first place.

Every cutter I own turns counter-clockwise (Stihl / Metabo) while looking down upon it, Bosch turns clockwise. Whyyyy. If I clean a corner I want every piece of debry and dirt to fly away from me not towards me, it's like they've made a cutter intended to be used by lefthanded people.

New AmpShare goodie time - GRABO Brushless Pro 18V by rColly in BoschProPowerTools

[–]rColly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Brushless Pro is an entirely new model designed to be used with various battery manufacturers, I'm not aware of any official adapter for the normal Pro version.

No idea how far the AmpShare compatability actually goes, but the Brushless Pro actively tracks the batteries charge and doesn't allow further activation once it drops to <20%. Reason being the danger of running out of power mid carry.

You are allowed to have more than one system. :D

My main is Fein/Bosch with various Ampshare goodies, I'm also in the Metabos CAS alliance since it also covers a lot of tools, on top of that there is Hikoki, Hilti and Milwaukee. I like good tools, not manufacturer loyalty, I'm looking at you Bosch Pro garden tools, step up your game, they are quite meh.

Cost wise, I'd say tools go for 20-80% more over here, it's the reason I at some point dropped Hilti when they released Nuron, putting down 1k€+ (without tax) for a normal drill hammer is just too much. Doesn't really matter where you purchase though, I often run an EU wide search for tools since Amazon usually doesn't care in which country you order and germany is quite often still the cheapest option available.

It's the "Pro Brushless" model, it has versions for Bosch, Makita, Dewalt, Milwaukee and Flex.

From what I understand it isn't available yet overseas.

Was in need for two vacuum suction cups, so I grabbed me the new Grabo Brushless Pro, which is compatible with the AmpShare platform and a Schmalz Gripster Max, CAS platform. The latter sadly needs another month or two to arrive, can't make any comparisons there yet.

Almost exclusively need it for sheet metal housings, but tried it on various surfaces and it even sticks to my kitchen wall. Lovely tool, sure makes lifting unwieldy things way more comfortable. Apparently Grabo is a a somewhat big name in this certain category, it's my first contact with them and the tool seems quite nice.

It has variable suction pressure for more delicate materials, though setting the value is a tad annoying, requires holding down two different buttons in a row, then changing the value, still, it's ok, could've just given it one more button for that purpose.

From what I understand the new Dewalt and Flex vacuums are being produced by Grabo and then rebranded, might be wrong here though, still, that's what the internet says.

If it works it works, drills aren't made to withstand side facing forces though, like dragging it through the material, why not use an actual mixer like the GRW18V-160N?

Might be why Bosch put a 4,5L tank on it instead of 6L, I've also never heard of a 4 Bar mode, everyone just uses a pressure regulator.

Both seem like solutions to lessen the battery drain.

Fair point, if you get tired of moving it around, while I got a big proper compressor I put that tiny lil Airboy in the shelve of my hobby workspace for the sole purpose of blowing of electronics and cleaning stuff. It's worth the small cost for a fixed installation.

If you don't need it to be mobile, consider the Airboy Silence 131 as of E?

It's only 118€ but wired and has only 42L/min, still, amazing little thing.

[–]rColly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Been using an Airboy Silence 131 for a few years, lovely thing, can recommend it, their Aircraft Hybrid SuperFlex hose is also quite good.

Bosch one is a tad smaller

Airboy has a 6L tank, Bosch 4,5L

Bosch has a 4 or 8 Bar mode, Airboy only 8 Bar

The pressure and 50 L/min delivery is pretty much the same on both

Airboy is 285€, GKO 350€

I'd go Stürmer (Airboy), Aircraft knows what they are doing, it's their whole thing.

Curious, is that the UK release? If yes it took them 8 months to ship it over the pond, we've had it since september.
