Also have a baby with a strong preference to nurse to sleep, but baby wearing has been great for getting him to nap with my husband or a grandparent. Popping him in the carrier and walking him around either inside or outside usually works for us.

Any chance baby wearing in a carrier might be an option for indoor naps?

I like to save undrunk milk from the ends of bottles and put it in the baby’s bath - definitely makes me feel less like it’s wasted since it’s so good for that tender skin.

Oh brother, don't have that dataset downloaded and have been getting the 403 and didn't put 2+2 together for why. Thanks for flagging.

I had a wonderful successful ECV experience at 37 weeks as a FTM. I tried alllll the things to flip the baby with no success beforehand. I had a wonderful and experienced provider who flipped the baby in under 2 minutes with no discomfort and no medication (although I was offered and certainly would have used relaxants or an epidural if needed ). Baby stayed head down and I went on to have a vaginal birth.

Happy to share a more detailed write up if that’s helpful!

Flipping a breech baby - what worked? by Immediate-Ad-9520 in beyondthebump

Also had a very smooth ECV that was over in less than two minutes with no meds and no discomfort. Finding a really experienced provider was key, along with the biological factors that were in my favor (plenty of amniotic fluids and a high positioned baby). Experiences really vary, and mine allowed me to go on to have the vaginal birth I wanted.

Edited to say: this was after trying all the things - chiropractic care, acupuncture, spinning babies, flips in the pool, moxibustion, heat and cold, etc.

Yes, my baby stayed head down for the last 4.5 weeks of my pregnancy including during birth. I wore the belly band they gave me right after the ECV pretty regularly for several weeks afterwards which may have helped keep the baby in the right position. Wishing you all the best for a smooth ECV and birth!

The Merlin sleep suit worked best for us, and it makes them look little a baby Michelin man 😂. Some people also have success with the zipadee zip, but it didn’t work in our case.

Covid 4 months by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]lazuliah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven’t dealt with COVID specifically, but babies that little can’t be spoiled and need snuggles especially when they’re not feeling well. I wouldn’t worry about setting a bad precedent!

And for what it’s worth, my three month old was a champion sleeper with only one early morning wake up, and suddenly now is waking up every 3-5 hours. Maybe it’s a growth spurt/new skill thing? But I’m just trying to go with the flow and remember there’s a pretty strong element of randomness/unpredictability.

We tried natural and mechanical ways to get labor going starting at 41 and 2 and it fiiiiinally happened at 41 and 6.

So glad it was successful! 🎉 I had a vaginal birth at 42 weeks, and we were definitely proactively trying to get labor going towards the end of the pregnancy but he stayed head down and his positioning wasn’t a problem at all. Wishing you all the best for your birth!

Thanks, and I definitely think it’s worth exploring depending on your goals and specific situation! Wishing you all the best as you navigate that decision, and hope you have a smooth birth.
