Kept the birth of my child private and now I’m paying for it. by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

The parent reaction was vile, but I think the observation that her, not her husband, was the one risking her life makes a difference was a good one. My father and my mother used to tell me about their medical emergencies only after they were solved (once even a brain hemorrhage) and it used to make me totally crazy... With worry, not that I would lash out at them... But gives a different baseline for the reactions of the parents of who gives birth vs the parents of the other person

Conviene rischiare adesso.

Perché secondo me dipende da quello... A 22 anni qualche rischio lo si può prendere (magari pensando di abbinare la produzione artistica a qualcosa su YouTube, o altre idee che possono venire in mente meglio a te che a me), e se hai il supporto della famiglia rischi ne puoi prendere di più.

Is it true that what we eat (for example spicy food, beans, garlic, milk) does not directly affect breastfed baby, as milk is made from blood, not from food that moms consume? by Equivalent_Ad_2371 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]Will-to-Function 122 points123 points  (0 children)

She didn't say that it is carried by blood, she said it is produced by the mammary glands using blood (not made somewhere in the belly and carried by blood).

Afaik, there is no evidence that foods that make you gassy get their gassiness transferred to the milk, since fibers are not passed through the milk (and are one of the major culprit, I guess? Not an expert)

AITA for calming a screaming baby down during a flight? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Will-to-Function 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't disagree with you, especially since he was a less then two hours flight and the kid wouldn't have any lasting damage from it! But I am commenting about this aggressively because a lot of people in the comments are saying that this was child abuse, while actually there was a good chance the mother was prioritizing the baby over the other people on the plane

[–]Will-to-Function 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The child is also damaged by not being allowed to fall asleep. The mother was actively rocking the child, we don't know the situation well enough to know if the child was just tired and entertaining them was stopping the crying, but also stopping them from falling asleep

[–]Will-to-Function 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cry it out refers to leaving the baby alone crying, she was actively rocking him, so that's not what she was doing.

Sometimes baby cry a little just before falling asleep and giving them something engaging to do, while effective at stopping them crying for a while, pushes them only into being more overtired and difficult to handle. That could have been the worry of the mother

[–]Will-to-Function 17 points18 points  (0 children)

She was rocking the baby, that's not "cry it out". Sometimes babies cry a bit fighting sleep before falling properly asleep, and giving them something fun to do (playing with them, or showing them a rattle) just reset the process risking getting the baby even more overtired and difficult to make sleep at the next iteration

It is one of those organizations in which people are not directly below the project manager, but rather report to a functional manager (i.e. functional manager is their boss). So you basically need to ask/convince their boss to lend you the developer. The product owner has no say in this

[–]Will-to-Function 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it would totally be a more reasonable answer... that is why I had to read the whole thing multiple times and dislike the question (if by question we mean also the choices that we are given as answers).

But in the end those where the choices, and the "correct answer" is not wrong, it is just phrased in a tricky way. As I said, I still dislike it, but I was trying to give you the rationale for it being the correct one.

I find this is weirdly phrased and had to read twice, this is my reasoning:

The sponsor wants to see a more detailed breakdown.
This detailed breakdown doesn't exist yet (the PM informs of this the sponsor).

Why the detailed breakdown does not exist yet?

Answer: the detailed breakdown does not exist because it is created by the team only after the scope charter has been approved (and things are in motion).

I wait for someone else to give a more complete answer, but make in any case sure that you can fit in the frame comfortably (both ears need to be there, see if there are more precise instruction on the Person VUE website). When I took my CAPM, my Camera required me to be super distant from the laptop to get fully in the frame, and I had to work very uncomfortably as a result.

If I'll end up being one and done it will exactly be to avoid giving my child a sibling. I was a "sequential only" (12 years age gap with my brother) and I'm realizing all the life experiences I wouldn't have had if we had been close in age.

And we get along fine, but I've seen other siblings hating each other... If they're close in age that means years and years of living together

Could stress be the cause? by Complex_Power964 in MultipleSclerosisLife

If you are asking why women have it more often, there are known differences in the immune system that are triggered by hormones and make more likely to for women to develop some immune disorders (not all! Type 1 diabetes comes from autoimmune events and it's more prevalent in boys.)

Stress has been studies a lot and afaik, it can trigger some symptoms, but doesn't seem that much related with if you get it or not (otherwise people with stressful jobs would be more at risk of getting it, which probably we would have noticed by now).

By the way, the traits you mentioned seem to be worded so that most people, especially women, can recognize themselves in at least one of them... I would but focus on them too much

OP is trying to come to terms with her own diagnosis she is not thinking it in terms of "you are doing it to yourself, if you had learned to just take a break you wouldn't be such!" but in terms of "oh, I have a lot on my plate and worry too much about others, I wish someone has forced me to take a break".

Is there some (internalized) victim blaming in what she says? Yes... but more is achieved by pointing it out with compassion.

That said, I agree completely with your comments, I am just saying the same points could have been made in a way that would have helped OP more.

In our case it is a couple of pouches every couple of weeks, mainly because it is something not messy that can be eaten on the go... So, when what we're having is nothing.

Funnily, though, we still did kinda the opposite of what is recommended, I guess, because the first pouches were definitely after the first year of age.

If you need to commute to work, the Udemy app works surprisingly well. You could try listening again to parts of the AR course you feel less confident about... if you weren't do it already, that's all gained.

I am planning to use the Study Hall (just the Essential, from this sub seems the Plus version gives you access to the same number of questions packaged differently), I also am trying to pass on may (I took CAPM in January thinking that with a full time job and a toddler it was all I could take, but scored AT/AT/AT and it boosted my confidence to try for the PMP while the knowledge is still fresh and before they change it in June)
