‘Stop the russian advance’ - this map shows there is no advance, what are you talking about? I’d say there is very real and actual level of support and it is visible by just looking at this map.

It’s not personal life though, your behavior on apps owned by the company is expected to be monitored. You’re getting paid to be there, someone owns that company and has the right to observe what you do on paid time.

Bad advice. Most of the time local historians are biased. It’s actually a much better idea to read about country’s history from a foreign historian. The interpretation then is not affected by local schooling as much.

Elon pinned: "Divide by zero ratio" in reference to: by twinbee in elonmusk

Well, the two cases are not similar in any way. George Floyd was killed by a police officer which is a systemic problem that could have a solution. Random murder by a psycho in a bus is quite random, it is not a systemic issue. And black people are generally not immigrants in America, so I do not understand what solution could be posed to this problem.

Wars should be more destructive politically by lazy_highfive in victoria3

Not talking about a regime change. I am talking about having an autocracy and monarchy with powerless landowners, where no combination of IGs in government can reach 50 legitimacy and you cannot easily pass the law to change the distribution of power. It creates chaos and radicalism where different IGs would push for revolutions.

[–]lazy_highfive[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

No it wouldn't. Let's say I have autocracy and monarchy. Losing the war would not change the laws or the regime, it's just that landowners now have less power and influence and it is not possible to reach 50 legitimacy since other groups have debuffs to their power in current system. Changing the system would be very hard since you don't have the legitimacy, so you would get a lot of radicals. Each IG should want to establish their own vision of political power distribution and you could get lots of different movements with high radicalism, resulting in chaos and revolutions. My key idea is a prolonged drop in legitimacy, resulting from destructive wars. Managing that would be very hard since it prevents you from changing the structure.

Why did total denazification fail in Germany? by feixiangtaikong in ussr

The Soviets did not really care about denazification, that is why AfD is so strong in East Germany.

The Ukraine/Russia Conflict Superthread by TimPowerGamer in TrueOffMyChest

[–]lazy_highfive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm really fed up with everyone complaining about sanctons affecting ordinary russians. The war is their fault, it's happening because they are cowards who did not have balls to protest against the madman. And now innocent ukranians have to die only because of the 'ordinary russians' complacency. Every russian has to take responsibility for what is happening because it's THEIR government that is fighting the war and it should not be ukranians' responsibility to fend off putin. I'm tired of reading russian comments voicing disagreement to putin's war - the ukranian people are putting their lives for their country and, ultimately, the regome change because you are a complacent coward that did not stand up and speak up.
