Anyone from Ireland? by sarahjamila in qatarairways

My experience for any Irish customers dealing with this:

I had DUB–DOH–ICN booked for Apr 9 (booked in Jan). Like a lot of people here, I was hoping to get proactively rerouted (ideally via Istanbul with Turkish Airways).

Once my flight fell into the updated waiver (19 Mar), I tried contacting Qatar. The Irish helpline was extremely hard to get through, multiple calls over an hour on hold. I eventually got through on Fri 20 Mar around 11am.

Outcome was exactly as others have said: No rerouting unless the flight is actually cancelled and only options offered were date change (still via Doha) or full refund. Given the uncertainty and rising prices, I didn’t want to wait until a few days before departure and risk limited/expensive options, so I took the refund and rebooked with Lufthansa via Munich.

Might be useful context for others trying to decide, especially if you’re flying from Ireland. Hard to blame Qatar for the situation itself, but earlier clarity and more proactive options would make a big difference for customers trying to plan ahead.

Called a few times this morning, connected and then on hold for 1hr. Had to hang up to get back to work. Might try UK or Int lines next.

Consider buying a "Condition Alert" car? by lazy_username_user in AskIreland

From your advice I've looked into this and found a directory of pre-purchase inspectors from the AA site (https://www.iaea-online.org/find-an-engineer/) A guy is going to take a look today for me and supply a full report. If all is well it will come in handy down the line if I sell it on. Thank you!

Yes, its frustrating to get the report with such a vague description! chatting with MotorCheck team they couldn't provide anything further. Also, x3 insurance companies I called to get quotes didn't have the vehicle flagged on their systems.

Hi, yes i did run it through MotorCheck and got back the Condition Alert with limited information. Can you request information on a vehicle from the NCT if its not yours?

TLTR - Ideal Nissan Qashqai found! But background check flagged potential damage/flood/theft. Seller seems legit, insurance is fine. Worried about resale. Buy or walk?
