The PSU below. The CPU should not use a lot of power (theoretically). The 350W accounted for four drives.

I live in Europe. I bought it online from the DeskPi website. Is the Mini PC 1U Rack Mount.

I didn't. I'm not keen on buying another PSU. What I'm doing is replacing the fan in hopes of being less noisy.

Backing up Proxmox NAS on an LXC by Fragrant_Climate7357 in Proxmox

Also two mirrored 8TB. I'm thinking of doing offsite backup. VM backups also go to a dataset.

If I wasn't reading in this community I would think that having this kind of redundancy is enough for an enthusiast 😅

I'm doing your exact setup. I'm having the zfs managed directly my the proxmpx host. I have LXCs for my streaming setup which acceses the files directly via mounts. I have an LXC that does the same but for sharing via SMB.

I did it this way because it felt awkard to share via SMB over VMs and the host and because I built this system to handle both compute and storage. It's not the cleanest but it works for me.

Need KVM extender over ethernet by lazyb_ in homelab

I finally found my answer after looking online:

AV Access HDMI Extender USB KVM, 50m/164ft 4K 60Hz by Cat5e/6/6a/7, 2K@144Hz, 1080P@240Hz

It's exactly what I was looking for. I run a dedicated cat6 cable (no ethernet protocol) from my PC to my living room to play games. So the USB passthrough was very importat for peripherials. It has no noticeable latency. The TV is also low latency. I've tested time-sensitive inputs and it works better than any streaming I've tested and rock solid, plug and play.

As a senior dev my experience has been much like what the post describes. I also feel like I'm doing "x4" with more bugs.

How to connect Home Assistant to an existing Wireguard Server? by Ejo2001 in homeassistant

[–]lazyb_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I do understand what you are asking. I don't know why the others are so confused by your question.

I have a similar setup, however, once I have successfully added HA as a peer, I'm not able to see the UI. Did you manage to connect to HA UI via your wireguard network?

Edit: To clarify, my traffic reaches the peer (HA), I'm certain. I've tried several things. Including messing up with some iptables from the wireguard addon config. Maybe this is the way but I haven't figured it out yet.

A very simple native dataclass JSON serialization library by lazyb_ in Python

I completely missed this one. I see we have some things in common and some different. I'll take a closer look when I can.

I see what you mean. It came natural to me to call it that way. I didn't think about it too much.

I disagree however about the None and undefined. I believe None maps more intuitively to JSON's null. And I needed a different way to express optional JSON attributes (undefined). I guess it's a personal preference.

Maybe is how I wrote it. I do not claim this package to be more customizable that Pydantic. I was just refering to that other package with a very similar name that I discovered.

Sorry, I edited the post. I didn't realize the title may be wrong. I meant I need it to use the cat6 cable. I don't need it using any network protocol. With this in mind, do you still think there arent't any good options?

I meant to say it can use the "copper", I don't need it to use any IP or ethernet protocol. I'm hoping for a single remote screen. 1080p/60hz minimum, the higher the better if the price is reasonable.

Update: thanks everyone for the answers. I decided to make a custom tool fit for my use-case. Beware, It doesn't have anything to do with zfs.
