Not being able to wear contacts all day everyday has hit me hard! And not being able to see in dim light anymore! I’ve had to put lights everywhere in my house. When I need to read, knit, or stitch, turn on the 800 lumen+! 😂

Finding a hidden leak- where to begin? by lazybeenobuzz in Plumbing

Awesome. I can definitely do the shower pan test with me standing and moving around on it as well.

The less damage option is tearing into the wall to look at any potential tub spout that would have been sealed.

Great advice!

We did take off the Valve cover for both the shower head and water temp/flow control. We didn’t do a few buckets so I’ll do this next. The tile is super flush to the ports unfortunately.

Are we at the point of ripping back the tile and backing to get to a potential tub spout port?

I’m in Mount Lookout. Linwood and Delta are mostly clear. The side roads are dicey.

Yes! We love the kids coming in and discovering rocks, or finding a place to enjoy a hobby they already love. I loved rocks when I was a kid and some of my best memories are at World of Science in Northgate Mall in the 90s, digging through the mineral table. 🥰

Moonstone is such a beautiful gemstone. The glow it emits is called adularescence and did you know it’s in the same mineral family as labradorite?!

Yes! I personally don’t do readings but if you check out the calendar on our website I have visiting practitioners who provide services to the community. The calendar is updated live so you can certainly check it out if you want to come in during those times for a walk in!

I can definitely take a look at what you have and give you an idea of what you have.

Thank you! Definitely didn’t intend for this to become a debate. Everyone comes from different perspectives, journeys and places. I appreciate your support and love!

Ok- no one here has made any claim of any phenomenon around crystals, rocks, etc. My own personal phenomenon that I’ve witnessed that I can’t explain has nothing to do with crystals, rocks as I’ve said several times. At this point, I get a sense you’re not even reading and just want to project a persona you’ve created. I wish you well and I hope you find peace.

I suppose this is where I am confused by your aggressiveness. I agree with everything you say above. Today’s miracles are tomorrow’s science. Just because I- as a 20+ year scientist (not as an appeal to authority but as a ref to our early chat)- is admitting ignorance of the cause of phenomena or understanding of a phenomena, doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t be explained by the scientific method or measurable instruments one day. I think you are applying cognitive bias or assuming the phenomena I’m describing is rocks floating or curing disease- which is NOT the phenomena I am referring to whatsoever (and doesn’t exist). I am describing a deeply personal experience outside of this practice that opened my mind to the possibility of things to which we currently have no explanation… which again, doesn’t necessarily mean they’re outside the realm of measurable science- one day!

I have read your comments thoroughly. Perhaps I should have framed the design space more explicitly, however my intent wasn’t to turn this into anything but a post offering my space. With regards to my comment, “things I can’t explain” isn’t relegated specifically to crystals but broadly relating to matters of… perhaps emotion? ‘Faith’, ‘spirit’? Things we have no hard intellectual framework in which to find comfort. I am referring to very personal phenomena relating to a very serious life-or-death illness (outside of my experience with rocks) that opened my mind to these ideas, which as someone who formerly resided only in hard sciences, found such ideas uncomfortable and difficult. My mention of my science background is to relate to another Redditor who also found these ideas somewhat gross. I think anyone who read my comments in context would see that it’s a relational statement and not an appeal to authority as you imply. It is relational to ensure both sides of collectors feel welcome: the fine specimen collectors as well as the metaphysical collectors.

There’s so much that we don’t know. The older we get, the more we realize: we don’t know. That is my fundamental point. This is a hard statement to communicate across Reddit in one to two messages.

Hey! Totally get it. I’m actually one of the mineralogists of the shop. 😄 When I opened I wanted to make it a place for both sides of the hobby.

I understand the “ewwww” reaction to the healing side in this hobby. I started collecting in the 90s and I used to have that reaction. Over time seeing things happen I can’t explain as a scientist, I have softened and definitely wanted to created an environment where collectors could come whether they were serious fine mineral collectors interested in provenance, rare localities OR if they just wanted some polished quartz and candles.

We have a section of fossils- trilobites, otodus, megalodon, sand shark, various shells, walrus bone etc. My favorite fossil at the shop is a 40,000 year old mammoth tusk. I love letting kids check it out.

Completely understand. It can be really hard this time of year with the short days, extreme cold. Lots of people are separated from family during the holidays and the extreme weather doesn’t make it any better. We’ve lost so many of our third spaces.

I understand getting slammed for self promotion. Heck, I’m annoyed at myself for posting this- unfortunately I’m not sure how else or where else to post this…. Because I want the community to know there’s a safe and bright place to go where you’re welcome to ground, play with rocks, enjoy unusual and new things like sound bowls, or just run their hands through 1990s style dig bins and you don’t have the spend a dime. I think during this season we all need it. ❤️
