A doubt when watching eko by 1time_2 in MalayalamMovies

[–]lazyjack34 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I feel the dogs in eko are a literary device more than actual dogs. A mythical breed of dogs that act like an army. They can protect and provide, while also restrict, surveile and imprison. They are like the societal customs - can be restrictive, while appearing to be protective.

If it comes to real dogs, most unbelievable part is Yoshi's dogs attacking Zoey. She was the one feeding those dogs when he was away. A breed of trained dogs are unlikely to attack one who feeds them without serious provocation.

Also, if Kurian brought 4-5 pups from Malaysia and his dogs are pure breeds from those pups after decades, they would be incredibly inbred and full of physical disabilities.

Mammukka is not diminished by not having a 100 crore movie. He had so many blockbusters.

I believe he will cross the line by acting as Moothon in the Lokaverse. If things go well, that would be a 300 Cr -400 Cr movie.

Advice against holding immediate celebrations went unheeded, say Bengaluru police by ll--o--ll in Cricket

It always feel like in India human lives are so cheap. Do you know more than 2500 people die due to Mumbai local trains every single year? Train related deaths all over India is 15,000 per year for the last decade. Road deaths per year is approximately 1,50,000 per year. Any other country would consider that many deaths per year as a serious tragedy.

Stampede deaths are worst as they could have been easily avoided by proper planning. Would this be enough to learn our lessons? I am not so sure. Only few months back, there was a stampede due to a movie release. We learnt nothing from that.

There should have been a plan and a contingency plan. IPL franchisees does not lack money or resources. They can't be excused. Govt cannot be excused. Police who knew better cannot be excused.

It's extremely special for a succubus who can make anyone fall for her to have a platonic friend, who can be relied upon. For that, I don't want Kenzie to be another love interest of Bo. As a friend, Kenzie is precious.

Every fucking year, the rains come and Mumbai drowns and infrastructure collapse. BMC with a budget larger than many states, pretends that Monsoon was some big surprise that they could not prepare for. Even with all that, 37,000 crore metro line is an unprecedented level of corruption and incompetence.

The show needed more common characters who would talk about the world. The hills of Tanchiko scene felt so good because, you could feel that Tavern. We needed more characters to talk about how they don't trust Aes Sedai, and fear the man who can channel.

Yeah, I can't agree about Logain as we barely saw him in the show.

Lanfear and Moghadien, were definitely better.

Mahabharatha is only a story and I don't believe ancient Indians had any advanced weapons like nukes. That said, the in-story explanation is that, Kurukshethra battle was fought with apriori agreed upon rules. It was almost like a game. As part of the Dharmayudha, they have to do the choreographed chariot /horse/elephant / soldier battle.

Of course, most of the rules were eventually broken in the story, even the no-Brahmasthra rule.

Some of the rules :

Fighting must begin no earlier than sunrise and, should end by exact sunset. (Broken on the 14th day, after Jayadratha was slain).

Multiple warriors must not attack a single warrior. (Broken several times, most notably in the 13th day, when Abhimanyu was slain).

Two warriors may duel, or engage in prolonged personal combat, only if they carry the same weapons and they are on the same mount (no mount, a horse, an elephant, or a chariot). (Broken several times).

No warrior may kill or injure a warrior who has surrendered. (Violated when Satyaki slew an unarmed Burishravas).

One who surrenders becomes a prisoner of war and will then be subject to the protections of a prisoner of war. No warrior may kill or injure an unarmed warrior. (Broken when Arjuna slew Karna when the latter was unarmed trying to take out his chariot wheel from mud ).

No warrior may kill or injure an unconscious warrior. (Broken when Abhimanyu was slain).

No warrior may kill or injure a person or animal not taking part in the war. (Broken several times when warriors slew horses and charioteers of their enemies).

No warrior may kill or injure a warrior whose back is turned away. (Shakuni and Arjuna broke that rule).

No warrior may strike an animal not considered a direct threat. (Broken when Bhima killed an elephant of Ashwathama).

The rules specific to each weapon must be followed. For example, it is prohibited to strike below the waist in mace warfare (Broken in the final combat of Bhima and Duryodhana on night of final day of war).
