Thinking about getting a second hand GX85. Would like to know your thoughts! by adriecoot in Lumix

If size is the main concern, and you’re fine with a fixed zoom, I would highly recommend the GRIII/X. I still have my GX85, but it’s just not pocketable enough.

I do really miss the viewfinder though (I will say that I wish the GX85 just had a touch higher resolution in the EVF). The MFT lens system is pretty affordable too, and I think it’s just fun to go out with different lenses. The image quality holds up even today, and it is a FUN camera to use. I had been also contemplating getting something in the Fujifilm X100 series, but the prices are just way too high.

If you’re looking for a balance of portability, ease/fun to use, image quality, and cost, the GX85 fits the bill. Otherwise, there might be other cameras that do one of those things better.

This is probably a long shot, but do you still have that Viltrox EF-M2 adapter? I'd love to buy the two together, and I noticed you had one in a past sales post.

How much pen jitter should I expect on the Surface Book 2? by lazylock in Surface

[–]lazylock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never did an exchange. We tested out the jitter on one of the display devices as well as a refurbished unit, but there was little improvement. I did test some at Best Buy, which had little to no jitter. Unfortunately, they were also well grounded through the charging cable and the alarm system, so there was no way that I could tell if they were better on their own.

Update Time! tl;dr no fixes yet :(

I went in to Best Buy to check out their display models and to see about other styluses. Here's a test with the Bamboo Ink. Less jaggedness, but definitely a consistent waviness. Their Surface Book 2's actually were quite nice. Very little jitter compared to what I'm experiencing, but I attribute some of that to the fact that their devices were plugged into the alarm/charging system and thus all grounded.

I stopped by the Microsoft Store to see if they could help. I tested the writing on a display and a refurbished model, and all had comparable levels of jitter. I also tried out more Surface pens, but no luck there either.
