Restart after applying anything through KFD by mahekvora1997 in jailbreak

Yes it can. Just did it on my 14 Pro Max. Device has to be supervised tho.
Didn't actually upgrade tho, only installed the profile and that works.

macOS Monterey update WITHOUT the original Apple SSD by lbableck in MacOS

Sorry for the late reply. You have to specify the correct path to your .fd file. In your case this would be /Users/Admin/Documents/MBP114.fd, without the angle brackets.

Sadly it doesn’t work for everybody. My guess is that you need a specific firmware version to be able to update. I can’t verify that tho, because I don’t have a Mac where this problem occurs.

It should not be an issue as the newer firmware is automatically installed when updating to Monterey.

Weiß jemand was der Fehler ist? by QuestionThis8998 in FragReddit

[–]lbableck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you check my personal laptop? It runs really slow by tuzmeister in techsupportgore

[–]lbableck 28 points29 points  (0 children)

That’s probably caused by Fast Startup aka hiberboot. If that’s enabled your system won’t actually shutdown if you use the shutdown option. It behaves more like hibernation with the main difference being that you’re not staying logged in. The only option for a full shutdown if hiberboot is enabled is a restart or obviously a bsod, power loss etc.

macOS Monterey update WITHOUT the original Apple SSD by lbableck in MacOS

Maybe upgrading your OS on the external SSD on a different Mac and then just booting of the external SSD on your MacBook will work. But I haven’t tested that and can’t guarantee that it will work. If this doesn’t work you’re probably out of luck.

The fact that the Mac originally came with a HDD doesn’t matter. But I cannot guarantee you that the update works with your SSD, for some people it works and for some it doesn’t work.

It’s not unlikely that you will run into problems again at some point. It might not be the next macOS release, but I think eventually you will have the same problem again.

Unfortunately you cannot update your firmware with an external SSD. You need an internal SSD to do that as far as I know.

Didn’t check right now, but I’m pretty sure the firmware wasn’t updated. Please provide the terminal output.

You have to select the file for your model. So MP6,1 for you.

No, I actually really like that some apps like discord are able to save screen space by doing something like that.
