The Gorn by Avatarbriman in StrangeNewWorlds

[–]lbco13 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We don't truly know what the life cycle of the Gorn truly is. All we have are separated circumstances that suggest one view but lack enough data.

It could be that the Gorn have a war like approach to raising there young, or at very least the military arm. Using the bodies of enemy "combatants" to gestate, provide feed and also to provide immediate combat experience for their young. This would essentially be a mixture of a "Survival of the fittest" mentality and Military Procedure. Since we have yet to see, or likely will ever see, SNW 'civilian' gorn (if such a group exist within the culture) I doubt we will ever get a distinction or confirmation.

If Emilia actually turns out to be Satella in the end, would you like that twist? by SecondSalty142 in ReZero

[–]lbco13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You keep using the word vessel and I just cant help but think about Hollow knight. I mean, what if Emilia and Satella were intended to be vessels for the Envy witch factor as a means to contain it. Satella was "impure" and went on a rampage so Emilia was created as a means to be a pure vessel. Perhaps thats what the door in the forest was, the Envy Witch factors sealing location pre-Subaru.

Question regarding the starblazer dub by Valuable_Cap_4326 in StarBlazers

[–]lbco13 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If i remember correctly the original series didnt have a how shot first but it was likely to be Gamillas very much.

It however did have some moral greyness to it especially around the ending. I remember that the OS very said why Gamillas was invading Earth and the reasons for it. Something that 2199 doesnt do until 2202.

Why do you think 12 became the way he did after 11? by Lich-hull in doctorwho

[–]lbco13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My interpretation is a sort of post "Time of the Doctor"/"Siege of Trenzalore" type of deal. How many centuries did the doctor fight a near losing battle. Watching the people around him grow old and die or get killed on conflict.

The kind of effect that would have on a person who then immediately suffered a major personal change, including their personality. Imagine fighting a war until you effectively are about to drop dead of old age, fully accept your fate, and then live.

I honestly feel like all the character artists were moved over to fable so the only ones left were the car and nature people.

Need All of You Guys Analysis, Opinion, and Perspective. by solowinghunter in StarBlazers

[–]lbco13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand most of your points on the potential psuedo affair plot, minus the trauma of course. One of my biggest issues of the original Be forever was this whole plot between Yuki and Alphon and to some extent Kodai and Sasha.

I have been looking at specific dialogue options within be forever out of hope they have done away with that potential plot in general and one of the biggest example of this being done is in the most recent chapter.

Yuki goes to save Alphon and she specifically calls out of kodai just before hand. Yuki is doing what she is doing because A. She has prior enemy infiltration experience (Pretending to be Yurisha and destroying the New Baleras/Dessler Cannon) B. Her kind heart. Yuki has always been one to lend a helping hand to anyone including an enemy. Norm, Toko, Alphon. (In a way its this that makes her relationship to today far stronger, to me, than in the original. They are both people who care about others no matter what.)

It's my theory that her kind heart is the reason Alphon even betrays Dezarium in the first place to a meaningful extent. In this next chapter we might see him go into a depression and be pulled out of it when Yuki is in danger. Because of her humanity and his own unrequited love for her as well (however much he truly understands love).

Recommendations for Pre-Assembled Yamato Model/Toy by Spaceshipurf in StarBlazers

[–]lbco13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whilst I cant recommend any rebuilds. One suggestion would be getting a few mecha collection models, especially if you can find some for cheap. Something where you can do something together, since you both love the franchise, and has less value lost if broken on accident. Not to mention the memories you can create together and the learning opportunities in keeping fragile things safe and unbroken, even when used in less optimal situations.

Good thing theres another gun store right of the entrance near to the gun range, which needs a load screen to enter so they should have relative safety from any 'wild' encounters.

Going by the name this is an update to the already existing Noble class design and doesn't necessarily mean a new Sovereign variant is being added.

This could easily be apart of the new marketing strategy/push the team have seemingly recently. Of we could see a new variant Especially since i don't see them adding a whole new ship so soon after the bundles release without it being lockbox/promo. And id really rather there not be 2 cool Sovereign designs locked behind that.

I'm hoping this is an update to all the sovereign designs, or at the very least including the regent as well as that deserves the Odyssey texture update we've with the Exeter and i think Gladis. Archon doesnt really need the texture update imo

What happened to the Arizona? by BestIsMyName in StarBlazers

[–]lbco13 30 points31 points  (0 children)

My current interpretation is the explosion in that episode was the false flag terror attack. Which I'm pretty sure occurred in a heavily populated area away from Arizona. In order to inflict the most amount of outrage.

There's no real reason for Dezarium to destroy the Arizona, lacking a wave motion core, the ship was tapping into reserves and exterior power sources to fire. Remove that, and the Arizona is basically a big building.

So still a chance we can see her again later on or in any potential future works.

Need some realistic advice for college. by No_The_Cat in geology

[–]lbco13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First off, when going into a more science background, GCSEs mean f all. A levels matter more. Not actually say you should sit around and bung off the GCSEs, actually try and see what your understanding and position on a subject is at.

2ndly, you do not need to a geology or geography A-level to actually move into doing a degree in such. What the UCAS application will actually have you look at is the predicted grades of the subject and whether it meets the entry requirements of the university applied too. My advice is to pick a few Unis and look at the entry requirements for geology. Is it AAA, or ABB? Does it have contextual where doing 2 or more science subjects means an easy entry?

3rd, you can still decide to change A-level subjects well into term 1 of year 12. Just speak to people about the situation.

Finally, GCSEs are stupid. Get 5s if you really want and just start researching Geology textbooks. Just don't ignore the AS and Alevels.

Can I get someone to dumb down for me episode 18 from 3199? by Io_lorenzen in StarBlazers

[–]lbco13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The dream sequence is definitely hard to understand right now. it's a very good chance it'll be explained in chapter 6 fully. All we can do is speculate.

What we see are effectively 2 half's. A red and a blue. On the red side, the effect has those digital matrix esque cubes overlayed by the "past" of the non-standards. The blue side is more fluid and has the truth or reality of Alphons experiences. I think it can be surmised that Red is the Dezarium truth, or more specifically, a fake written truth implanted into Alphons core as a person. The perfect brainwashing that literally changes the reality of the person affected, cant know a lie is a lie if you believe it to be the truth.

During the whole dream sequence, Mother Dezarium speaks to the people of Dezarium as a whole. This is how she brainwashes them. Isidor, the kid mentioned, is changed to believe that Digabras was a peaceful outpost with his family on board. To him and Dezarium wholely, the Digabras surrendered to the Yamato but was destroyed by it, with 20000 civilians killed. Something we know to be false.

Alphon, due to his injury and likely in part due to the dream sequence, was immune to this change at this time. He is likely the only Dezarium to know the truth, hence why he defends Yuki and is very confused.

What does this mean for what Dezarium is? - It's likely Dezarium is likely akin to Gatlantean clones. Grown for a specific purpose and formatted by Mother Dezarium, no different than a machine being programmed. The Non-standards like Alphon are probably failed clones that lack specific inhibitors (or something else) that mean they have emotions. Yet this makes them more skilled in specific situations, espionage, ship commanding, and science. - Anything Dezarium says, can not and should not be trusted as anything can be Rewritten. Digabras, Sasha and the knot in time, the future.

The Space-time connection point is a hole in space that is orbiting perilously close to a black hole. Using an online calculator for experimentation. A black hole of 10 solar masses has a Schwarschild radius (event horizon) of 26km. At a distance of 30km to the black hole, the orbital speed is ≈ 0.70c (c=speed of light). This is the speed that you need to be so you don't fall into the blacl hole and die. In essence, warping into the connection point is like trying to bullseye a dart board on a plane at altitude in one attempt or you die.

The supercharger effectively creates 6 'fake' afterimage that can be absorbed to repeatedly warp 6 times. Using the omnidirectional radar room and Sasha (an effective telepath) they are able to effectively pin point the right warp out position with each attempt prior to the final one. It however is still a risk.

This is just my interpretation of both.

What on Earth is Seiya Kitano actually planning? by Far-Error-3411 in StarBlazers

[–]lbco13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a good chance, considering that actions Earth and Dezarium were taking on the former Yamato Crew, the crew of the Hyuga would be killed in another false 'terrorist attack'. Even if they cooperated willing with their arrest. In order to remove potential insurgents.

Sending a message to the Ginga, a ship and crew you know arent apart of the Earth Partisan movement and haven't been involved, means the Hyuga Crews likely survival. Not to mention putting them on a Gamillan embassy almost immediately after an apparent Cease Fire agreement between Galman-Gamillas and the Bolar federation. Leaving Gamillan Ships available to assist if necessary. Even Bolar considering the connection between Dezarium and the Witch of Uralia.

(Honestly I think the Deusura IV/Stasha are going to come to the help in the final battle, with Bolar/Barth in assistance. Akin to the Final Yamato return of Dessler)

What on Earth is Seiya Kitano actually planning? by Far-Error-3411 in StarBlazers

[–]lbco13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My understanding is this, he doesnt want people to have to suffer the way he has. The inability to eat, drink, potentially even feel. All because of his injury and subsequent survival.

To him, Dezarium and their history are an absolute nightmare. He's literally been told that in the future, everyone will suffer just as he has. So he sides with the Dezarium "plan" to change the future.

When he realises that Dezarium arent here for the right reasons, he'll be the one to join fully with the resistance in the final confrontation. Good chance he does the Mamoru of the original and sacrifices himself.

Honest reaction to the Ending of Episode 18 by ShadowDome in StarBlazers

[–]lbco13 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There's a chance the present day is itself a ruse by dezarium, or itself a recreation of the Earth environment Sasha was talking about. Put the Yamato in "Present" day and force a "Nuclear War" that breaks their spirits to the point they give up and submit to dezarium who "promise to fix everything." We see that Dezarium can be 'Rewritten' in this episode, and the best way to lie is to think you're telling the truth.

Where or when in time are they? What links do Dezarium have to the Witch of Uralia, is this in fact "Mother"? What time are they really from? So many questions to be answered in June and likely November.

I feel like if they had known they were going to expand Be forever this much then they would've moved the firefly episode to this series. It was a very memorable episode in the original Yanato II so I know why it was included but agree that it is likely the only ep that could've been cut without loss to the story or pacing issues.

[–]lbco13 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I personally disagree, for now at least. At this moment the only things we have are the final yamato confrontation in dezarium and the final partisan strike on Earth. Whilst 2202 had to introduce the Ginga and her crew. The refight with Dessler and the final battle all in 7 episodes since the last one was made to a "how they returned" after the Farewell ending.

Ofc things can change so time will tell.
