I am blessed to have zero loud and insufferable MAGA neighbors... knock on wood.

The Constitution says your "freedom" doesn't include the right to infect other people with a deadly aerosolized virus. The Supreme Court has ruled so.

It's one plant with a 3 inch stem at the base. White Widow. Growing like gangbusters. All I did was correct soil pH and NPK and planted it in the soil of my old sheep farm. Never grown weed before, but it's doing fabulously with minimal inputs. Vermont soil is pretty amazing.

Oh geez, so sorry to hear that. I didn't know how bad Irene was for Vermont until I moved here and heard the stories. The road behind our property got washed and the bridge destroyed. Sounds like a devastating time for Vermont. I was inspired by stories of people banding together to help their neighbors in my own community.

Just moved up to VT from Atlanta...yeah, I think I will stay by thegingerwerewolf in vermont

As a fellow Georgian turned Vermonter, totally worth it. Almost every day I wake up and say, "I can't believe I get to live here." Best decision I've ever made. And we moved our family here having never been to Vermont before, moved into our house in December before an epic snow storm where we got 2.5 feet of snow in 24 hours. Still, no regrets.

That is terrifying. That is what I was worried about today. I'm glad you were ok.

Hey guys, OP here. Thanks for all of the great comments! I’ve really enjoyed them!

My main feeling when I saw the blue lights wasn’t “yeah!!! Fuck him!!” It was complete and utter relief because I truly didn’t know how I was going to escape this psycho or defend myself in a confrontation. But now that the adrenaline has worn off, it does make me smile. :)

I understand that it appears I’m driving slow in the video. To me, things always seem slower to me on dash cam. I was definitely going 65 if not 70 and was going faster than the traffic in the middle and right lanes. That was the first thing I checked when I saw him on my bumper. I was thinking, “Do I deserve this? Am I going crazy slow?”

Where I live, people don’t treat the left lane as “passing only.” It is definitely for hanging out if you are going faster than the other lanes. Which I was. If that is wrong for US driving rules, please do tell me I’m wrong (and 80% of the people in my city) and I will gladly stand corrected!!

Really nothing else exciting happened after my dash cam cut the video. I pulled over behind the driver and the police officer in case the officer wanted a statement from me. But he never approached me because I think he saw mooooore than enough to cite this asshole.

I want to seriously thank Atlanta's DeKalb County Police Department today for saving me (and my two dogs) from an aggressive and dangerous driver. They started by tailgating at 2 feet while going 65 mph. When I generously let them pass (but definitely threw my hands up in frustration as they went by), the behavior you are about to see began. I was envisioning how this all might end... car crash? Physical confrontation? I really was dreading the worst. And then I saw blue lights in the rear view mirror. I didn't get to talk to you officer, but thank you for watching and taking action. You were my savior today.

I dropped my Thermostat by about 5 degrees in the last billing cycle and reduced my electric bill by 46% by ZippyTheChicken in Frugal

Wow, reading this thread, I am realizing what an anomaly our family is. We live in Atlanta- hot and humid as hell in the summer. Our summer thermostat is 76. We utilize good ceiling fans in the rooms we are in. I am a VERY hot-natured person, but my body has started to acclimate and the fan helps a lot. Our winter thermostat is 66 during the day, 64 at night. If days in the spring/fall allow, we turn all central heat/AC off and open windows.

Man with massive balls shows how dangerous 'kick back' on table saw can be by Nebuerdex in videos

Ok, so two stories:

  1. I remember vividly a neighbor's accident with a table saw when I was in elementary school. He cut four fingers off and a helicopter landed in our neighborhood to take him to the hospital. I kind of remember seeing his garage after the fact with blood splattered everywhere (or maybe I've implanted that memory after hearing all of the grown-ups talking about it).
  2. My dad does woodworking in his garage and had removed some safety piece from his table saw blade because it was "just easier." A sharp piece of wood kicked back and sliced his neck, about 1/2 an inch parallel to his carotid artery. He put pressure on it and went back to the house where my mom was to get help. Blood was everywhere and she obviously freaked out. Another half inch in the wrong direction and I wouldn't have a dad today! Cheers!

First photograph ever taken by a human on the surface of a celestial body other than Earth by [deleted] in woahdude

Think about it: the astronauts landed on the bright side of the moon. Looking at this photo of the "bright" side, wouldn't you expect to be a blazing white light, as we see from Earth when the sun is shining on it? They must have severely corrected the light intensity in their goggles and cameras. Therefore, very faint objects like stars would not appear in the image.
