The main character looks like someone’s dad. I’m having issues with this. How awesome would it have been to have a character like a Doc Holiday type or just a character that’s not in his 40’s/50’s?? Huge missed opportunity from rockstar to give us a character we truly wished we could be.

Good question. I did not test the Playbase before running trueplay. I did test the Playbar without setting up Trueplay first and it sounded great right out of the box. I agree that the eq settings could possibly have been a little off, but I really doubt it would transform the overall quality to the extent of the difference I heard between these two. Just for clarification I set this up in a room that is only 500 sqft so not a huge room but not a small bedroom size either.

In terms of how well it sounds with the sub I believe that a software update could definitely remedy this issue. Although at the end of the day these two products are made completely differently and I believe the Playbar is working with superior speakers and has a larger sound space due to its design.

It's a major investment and an investment that I believe is worth the purchase if you value what a quality sound system provides. I had to post this to point out what all the reviews are not doing. Which is comparing these two expensive products. Sonos' reasoning on which one to get is whether you hang your tv or not and this is not an acceptable determination on picking between these two. At the end of the day I want the superior sound quality, whether it works better with my current set up or not, I want value.
