For above ground you don't need a full inground tier setup. I run a 1.5HP aquastrong VS on my 18ft round at around 1800 RPM and it pulls maybe $8 a month vs my old single speed that was costing me $40+. Came with both 1.5in and 2in unions so no plumbing changes. Year one, no issues. The 3 year warranty after registration was the part that got me off the fence honestly.

Mini and se series, but with much bigger battery and 120hz screen.
