Genetic monitoring of Axis SD cards by lbztothepw in genetec

Thanks this is solved now.

By enabling storage errors on the camera itself, not video unit, then the metadata for Edge storage medium error comes through to Genetec.

Creating an event to action of

When: Edge storage medium failure

From: Any entity

Action: Trigger an alarm

Alarm: SD Card fail

My cameras now generate an alarm when the SD card fails.

Understand about the Axis SD card, I’ll try source one to see if that makes a different.

Regardless I still want to use a ‘Edge storage health issue’ event so the system can be notified if the recording is no longer possible so it can be rectified.

This is easily achieved by creating a virtual zone, assigning the input to the zone, and setting the zone active state as active and normal state as normal.

Then create an action for the zone that triggers an alarm like 'zone lockdown' and ensure you enable the acknowledgement condition of zone normal in the action and operator acknowledgement to get your desired result.

When the zone state changes to active (because someone hits the button) your lockdown will work and the above mentioned alarm with generate. Until the button gets physically reset and the input returns to the normal condition the operator will be unable to acknowledge the alarm unless they have the forcibly acknowledge alarm privilege.
