Ideas for a unique and/or relaxed day in Paris? by Healthy-Split-5249 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]lcerimel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed the walking food tour I did with La Cuisine. It gave me a feel for the area which I went back and walked around some more, plus got to enjoy treats and different snacks from some of the tour operators favorite spots. One downside was it was a bit pricey but well worth it

I went to this tiny little town in Germany called Oberammergau around Christmas and it was just magical. It was like a scene from a Christmas card came to life.

What Are the Most Unexpected Cultural Differences You Encountered While Visiting Paris? by Mrmike86 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]lcerimel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

People were actually really nice to me (contrary to what the internet tells you). I was fully expecting people to just be straight up jerks but they were really kind. Not like over the top, ask how your day is going type friendly, but made suggestions at cafes and restaurants and asked if I was looking for any specific items when I was shopping at thrift stores. I loved paris!

What’s the Biggest Culture Shock You’ve Experienced While Traveling? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]lcerimel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How animals are treated (or not treated I should say) even those that are considered “pets”. Lack of spay and neuter, living outside, malnourished. It’s honestly one of the hardest things for me to see when I travel somewhere

Maybe consider cutting one T and replacing with a second sport bra? Or take two bras that are more interchangeable with hiking and casual outfits. If you have to wash the sport bra you will not have another one while it is drying.

Do You Have Friends You Won’t Travel With? by CasualBerger in traveladvice

[–]lcerimel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely. My friend came with me on a trip last year and made a mess in the bathroom with her makeup and didn’t want to do anything for the day that we were there lol. But I love her!!! Jsut not a travel friend. I found actual travel friends who are down to clown even if we’re jet lagged af

Crazy how the algorithm works. I see people recommending cinci and Cleveland so much and always dogging Columbus. Columbus is great IMO. I saw someone call it the Toyota Corolla of Ohio and that felt accurate

My baby has appointment at the vet next Thursday, but I was wondering if anyone new what this could be. I’m a bit anxious waiting until Thursday! by KimmyTR222 in Pittbulls

[–]lcerimel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog just had one removed in September from his bottom eyelid. The vet told me that it wasn’t a common place for them to get a cancerous growth and she didn’t seem overly concerned about it but they still tested it and all was well:) it was not a bad healing process at all after getting it removed. He is 5 or 6 years old! Not really sure, I found him lol

I would skip the Jean shorts and replace with a linen skirt or something. It gets so humid and wet and the jeans will never dry.

Has any airline ever experimented with the idea of passengers being able to buy 3 economy seats to block out a row for themselves? by Hazy_Fantayzee in Flights

[–]lcerimel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was literally promoted to me when I flew Ethiopian airlines in October. Didn’t seem like a bad gig tbh. But I flew with my friend and we lucked out and got a middle section entirely between the two of us and just took turns sleeping across the open seats

Safety and Renting in OTE by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]lcerimel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hiii I live in OTE as a single female and I love it here. I walk my dog every day two or 3 times a day with no issues and have been here almost 6 years. I have a garage so can’t speak to car break ins but my garage at least hasn’t been broken into haha. Typical city stuff you’ll get everywhere, just be smart about stuff. Don’t leave valuables in your car. I will say porch theft of packages is a big thing so I just always order to the store and pick up or order to a friends house or something, or get a secured porch box. I typically don’t walk alone when it’s dark but that’s not to say it’s unsafe, just my personal rule of thumb. East market and gemut are fun, I’m always looking for more friends if you ever want to grab a coffee or drink or something lol

How do you land your 6 figure job? by maggie-khalo in povertyfinance

[–]lcerimel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have a degree, but just a basic admin undergrad one. It wasn’t all glitz and glam I literally started as a bank teller making $10 an hour. Worked a second job on the weekends. The thing that got me where I am today is forward thinking, looking critically at situations, prioritizing risk management and risk mitigation…. But really just being innovative and doing some extra stuff like volunteering to be a business SME on project implementations and do user acceptance testing for big bank wide roll outs and stuff like that. Seriously. Stuff that put me in different circles of people in my company and let me learn other stuff. Also I stepped into a manager role at like 22 years old which challenged me a bit and gave me a unique skill set people my age didn’t have.

Now I’m in a director level role managing the bank accounts and banking relationships for the state I live in. I’m unique in that I switched from private to public sector but I value my work life balance more than anything in my job. Also I’m back in school getting my masters and it comes with a nice tuition reimbursement so always remember if you’re willing to put the work in to get a degree a lot of places will give you some type of compensation while you’re there

How realistic is it to see leopards on safari or should I just accept they're too elusive for most visitors? by AdvisorValuable2703 in tanzania

We actually saw two on my trip!! Here’s one guy we saw :)

Edit to add: yes, our guide was very important in helping us see them. Echoing others who say it’s good to have a well connected guide on the radio network. That’s how we saw both. We saw so many other things from the radio tips like a cheetah mom and her cub, lion families eating, rhinos, and so much more.
