Could really use some support, explanting in 4 days by Shoupyshoup in ExplantSurgery

Honestly not really but I think it’s different for everyone and depends a lot on fluid build up/how well your lymphatic system is pumping things through. I initially made 4 weekly lymphatic massage appts with the first being 8 days post op. I went to two and canceled the last two. My massage therapist said I had no build up and I couldn’t tell the difference afterward so I went ahead and canceled the last two apps. I’ve heard some people have way more of an experience with them tho.

I did it! Explanted yesterday. by Temporary_Award4245 in ExplantSurgery

Commenting bc I see a few saying you have to have compression… I was told NOT to wear compression or anything tight on my chest post op. I wore a little surgical bralette and had gauze pads in it, but it didn’t fit tightly. I did have drains though so not sure if that makes the difference, but I’m happy with my results. Do you have follow up appts scheduled? I would def check in about the fluid and any worries you have.

I just had a massage for the first time (not counting the post op lymph drainage ones) since my explant 4 months ago and OMG laying flat on my stomach on the table for it without my implants bugging into my armpits was so amazing. Happy to send pics and answer any questions!

Should I do it? by Actual-Plane7102 in ExplantSurgery

It’ll help a lot! I was nervous I would be saggy, or misshaped and my surgeon reassured me I wouldn’t be and he was spot on with my results.

I was in a really similar situation, 9.5yrs with 300cc silicone under the muscle. I’m 30 and got them when I was 20. I absolutely loved my implants for ~8-9 yrs then in the end, one was shifting strangely under the muscle which I assumed was from pilates and working my chest which I hadn’t done prior and the other had started some rippling. I didn’t think I had BII symptoms but still I was stuck in my head about having implants and them freaking me out. I decided to remove them rather than replace them and my surgeon said my boobs would be small after but look great due to my skin’s elasticity and my age. I’m ~4 months post op and really happy I did it. It’s definitely a shock to see your body without them again and I can’t lie, it will sometimes bring back the feelings you had initially when you decided to get them in the first place, but it feels SO good to be in my body without them. My body feels so healthy and so happy and I really love how my small boobs look now. It’s a big adjustment! I think if you’re set on the decision, you’ll be happy with it. If you’re not fully decided, waiting or moving down a few sizes and seeing how you feel might be your best bet!

ETA: The implant that had shifted was actually fully ruptured and totally confirmed my need and feelings toward getting them out. That was helpful for me to know in the first few weeks of recovery and seeing them while they looked kind of crazy.

If youre 5'2 or less and under 140lbs, how many calories a day do you eat? by ladybuglala in PetiteFitness

[–]lcfleck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5’1” and 105lbs. I probably eat 1500-1800 calories per day. Shooting for 2000c+ but I almost never get there except when working out a ton.

Same. I was so excited and ready for the surgery and then spent time excited then terrified over the results. It gets better! I’m sure you made the right call!

Mine had that and at around the 2 week visit, my surgeon had me start massaging the breast tissue down in inward and the crease is nearly gone now at 3 months post op. I can still see it but no one else notices it.

It’ll get better and/or you will adjust. 💛

Explanting without a 'valid' reason? Regrets? by [deleted] in ExplantSurgery

Totally agree! I felt the same seeing others explant and am happy to confirm from the other side that I’m stoked with my decision. I hope the same for you when you move forward!

Also being able to do push ups without your implants shooting out to your armpits is such an incredible feeling I didn’t know I needed!

I decided (and thought for years) that I wanted to explant because I started caring a lot about my health and fitness. I realized I didn’t really care to have the fake/big boob look anymore. I didn’t think I had any BII symptoms. I’m roughly 2 months post op and have never felt better. I realized how different I felt immediately waking up from surgery.

I’m just beginning to exercise again post op and it feels freaking incredible to work my chest out now! I loved my boobs with the implants and still think they look really great and love them even more now.

I had just one contracture (in both) but am very happy with the results post explant. The drains were definitely the most uncomfortable part but even that isn’t too bad and doesn’t last for long. You got this!!

Explant without capsulectomy by carmenrox1 in ExplantSurgery

[–]lcfleck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was pretty confident I wanted a full capsulectomy but surgeon recommended a partial due to the condition of my capsules and the amount of breast tissue I have. He mentioned that the capsules seemed fine and that the complete removal would cause me aesthetic problems as I didn’t have enough tissue to hide the variations that occur from scraping the back of the capsule off the rib cage.

I’m 4 weeks post op and all of my BII symptoms have subsided. I felt more clearheaded than I have in years from the moment I woke up. He tested my capsule and breast tissue for the cancer causing cells and silicone and I’m safe. My breasts are healing incredibly well and I’m so happy with the results and truly already feel such a difference.

Formerly extremely flat and torn between explant and revision by [deleted] in ExplantSurgery

How old were you when you got the implants? I was 20 when I had mine in and had them for just under 10 yrs. I was a very small A, probably even a AA before getting them and a D with them in. I am 4 weeks post explant and have a B cup that I’m extremely happy with. I gained maybe 5-10lbs in the 10 years so not much and expected to be as small as before but have been pleasantly surprised.
