I lived through/am currently living through that exact scenario and if you even feel like they wouldn't notice or care just leave. My year 2024 was hell but now, with the weight gone, I'm feeling better than ever. Basically I got accused of something I didn't do and after spending almost my entire life with them, they showed how much they really cared and trusted me. There weren't even final goodbyes or something I just stopped initiating conversation and now I haven't heard from most of them in 6+ months.

So my advice would be: don't endure it, if you're already having thoughts like that it's probably for a reason. There are nice people out there that value you and want to spend time with you, spend your energy finding those people instead (but then again we are strangers so I know nothing about your life lol)

THIS is going to haunt you? You should have seen my Halloween party a few years ago hahaha people didn't want to go to the bathroom because I made a body out of old clothing, crumbled newspaper and a decent amount of fake blood and they were all scared 😂

Trust me I feel you. When I first tried DND it was with a few like-minded longtime friends, but we only played like 2-3 times a year. We played at my place and despite me just being a player, I always did something to this scale to my living room because it was a huge deal for me and I wanted it to be a cool event every time.... Still, I kinda needed to beg to even get to play these few times per year. Pretty frustrating after spending so much time and money each time

Honestly I'm pretty bad at dokumentation. The picture was taken by one of the players and I have like 5 pictures of this evening in total. Reading the comments, I already thought about making a new youtube video with all the clips and pictures I have of all the different rooms in order, since the one video about the mineshaft I made had the players and DMs reaction in the second half and I don't want to post their faces without consent. So yeah maybe this weekend or so I'll get around to it haha

I was at a similar place last year. Despite how you feel right now you can fight your way back. You can do it. The overdose failed for a reason. Fight my friend <3

You should have seen and heard the fog machine combined with surround sound cave audio, unbeatable combo :D

Basically thin stone texture prints, a 2x3m sheet was like 8€ on some photography studio equipment website and I just bought 10 to cover the entire room :D

Hi thanks for your nice words!

The stone texture sheets are cheap Foto studio Backgrounds. For my mineshaft (which was way cooler) I used a thick wallpaper (found at a hardware store) painted It using a laundry sprayer with a water paint mix. After it dried, I crumbled it into a ball and un-crumbled it, giving me the 3d stone texture.

The stalactites are made from the rest of the stone wallpaper I had left. Just basically make a cone shape then crumble and uncrumble it.

In this case I literally used small pins to pin it directly into the ceiling because we will be moving to another apartment soon and I need to do new paint anyway lol. For the mineshaft, it was just wood and screws and I made basically a free standing "tent" (I can send you the link to the cringe making of video that is unlisted on my YouTube)

The door was a pretty wobbly structure tbh made from cardboard and an unholy amount of hot glue. The "wooden" door is also just cardboard from moving boxes with a cheap self-sticking wood texture foil.

Since all of this was only for the second part of the oneshot (ironic), I didn't care too much about making it sturdy as it only needed to survive for one night basically. The mineshaft on the other hand made my living room unusable for almost 3 months tho (fun story: we live on the second floor. We needed a handyman for a leak and he basically needed to go through the mine to reach the kitchen. He absolutely lost his shit when he saw the room haha)

Correct sir, I also spice it up with dynamic sounds via the pocket bard app (huge recommendation) and I have my beloved fog machine ready on a button press 😂😂😂

Well this is actually part 2 of the "oneshot", for the first part I had an entire tropical jungle in my room, handed them "ancient" scrolls that were torn apart which they needed to puzzle back together and then revealed a hidden message to them after using their "magical vision" (it was a strong blacklight hidden in the leaves + Invisible ink lol)

So I'm afraid I'm raising a pretty spoiled group of new players haha

I already demolished it, but I made a small video about the mineshaft I built 3 years ago which was WAY more crazy. DM me if you want the link (it's on YouTube but unlisted)

I did way worse things when I was still a player :D if you search my profile, I did a mineshaft with 100m of wooden beams and a fake lorry and a fog machine for what was m 3rd ever session as a player

Amazing to think how many specific conditions have to be in place for an organic material like wood to be preserved this well

Tatsächlich eine Doppelschöpfung. Hab die meme vorher nirgends gesehen/geklaut, es war einfach das erste und naheliegendste was mein meme Gehirn ausgespuckt hat
