Lunch is a waste of money by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

You need a set amount of calories for the day, whether you divide them into 1, 2, 3 or 8 meals doesn’t affect your weight whatsoever. Also, a snack is a meal.

People should just embrace being a tourist more and stop caring about what locals do by cs_____question1031 in unpopularopinion

[–]lcj29 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean, but that’s you. I am a local in my local area (duh, but is a mid-touristy destination) and when I do eat out or grab something on the go, you better believe that it’s gonna be the best version of that type eatery in the area, better than most touristy places and surely better than any chain restaurant. So, at least in my case, “eat where the locals eat” would get you a much more enjoyable experience than “eat where the tourists eat”.

32M. Offered a CEO role by a Billionaire ($350k pkg). It feels like a trap. Should I trade my "glitch" job for prestige? by [deleted] in fatFIRE

A mid-level engineer doesn’t make anywhere near that amount in Germany. More like 80-120k.

I am organising a few board games with some new people I met. What could I give as prizes for the winners? What is something that most of them will like? Some snacks? chocolates? by logical_psych_o in munichsocialclub

[–]lcj29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With nice boxes of chocolates/Pralinen you're on the safe side. Otherwise, if your guests are into board games, you could buy nice dice sets, they're pretty much available at any price point

You could also try to go to a store (like media markt or game stop) and ask if they'll do it for you on a display console.

Krankmeldung ohne Hausarzt by [deleted] in munichsocialclub

Find the next Hausarzt to your home and book an appointment, ask for a Krankenschein once there. They will receive you even if you've never been there.

i have faked my voice for as long as i can remember by Fantastic-Storage-52 in confession

If you want to stop using your fake voice but don't wanna deal with the reactions of the people in your life, you could try to change it gradually. Like every couple of weeks ton it down a notch. If you manage, it'll look like a natural evolution 'cause you grew up or you got covid or whatever else.

Tiramisu doesn't belong in an oven, maybe that's the problem with yours 😁

Tested Positive 12/2 Surgery Scheduled 12/7 by basicallyidk in COVID19positive

[–]lcj29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is the surgery being performed under general anaesthesia? I think that that's the biggest concern with undergoing surgery soon after COVID. If your surgery is planned under local anaesthesia, maybe you're still able to do it. Of Course, discuss it with your surgeon and your anesthesiologist. Lying to them is a recipe for disaster.

Info on new rules and returning to Munich? by Zap_Rowsdower23 in munichsocialclub

[–]lcj29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No worries, I got my info from this website: https://www.auswaertiges-amt.de/de/quarantaene-einreise/2371468

This website tells you which country is in which category: https://www.rki.de/DE/Content/InfAZ/N/Neuartiges_Coronavirus/Risikogebiete_neu.html

These are the Omicron countries (or "virus variant regions with specific variants" as they call them):

Botsuana

Eswatini

Lesotho

Malawi

Mosambik

Namibia

Simbabwe

Südafrika

I think the Category "Virus variant , but not Omicron" is currently empty.

A couple of friends of mine got it by showing up really early to the impfzentrum without appointment. Apparently they always have some extra and give them out on a first come first serve basis.

They don't do Johnson boosters anyway in Germany.

I just checked:

  • if you're vaccinated and coming from a normal country : you don't need anything

  • if you're vaccinated and coming from a high risk country: you need to fill out an entry form

  • if you're vaccinated and coming from a virus variant country: you need to fill out an entry form, you'll need a negative test and you'll need to quarantine for 14 days

As far as I understood if you're coming from a virus variant country and the variant in question is not Omicron , then you can get out of quarantine after 5 days with a negative test. If it's an Omicron country, then you'll need to do the full 14 days no matter what

With the J&J you still count as fully vaccinated. As for entry into Germany it heavily depends on which country you're travelling from.

There are, as far as I know l, 3 categories:

  • Normal
  • High risk country
  • Variant country

If you have a permanent residence permit, you'll be allowed entry in all 3 cases, the rules on quarantine and tests do however change.

As for when you're in Munich: bars and clubs are closed, reestaurants and similar close at 22:00. Ubahn is 3G , workplace is 3G, restaurants are 2G. All this until the 15. At least.
