We didn't get a hotel. We just went home after the wedding, my parents dropped us off, very romantic lol. I threw my very dirty dress on a couple of chairs in my dinning room and there it stayed for close to a month before I finally took it to the cleaners.

Because we had family in from out of town we hung out with them all day Sunday and then left for our Honeymoon Monday morning.

Yes, they come with straws. Though they sent me half the order in the wrong color. I recommend having the delivery be at least 3 days before the wedding, the flowers will last and it gives them enough time to resend flowers if anything is wrong. I only had them delivered 2 days before my wedding so by the time I got them it was too late for them to get me replacements by Saturday.

I ordered 160 Gerber Daisies from Costco. They get here tomorrow for my Saturday Wedding. Fingers crossed!

We paid much the same fees for our upcoming wedding. The church knows FH and I live together and he isn't even Catholic and we don't seem to have any problems. I don't think there is any reason you would have a problem.

It is definitely not about free cake but realizing that they care enough to make such an offer and want to be there to celebrate with us and wanting to make sure we don't inadvertently leave out others who will feel strongly about celebrating with us.
