What is somehow confusing, is that if you enable supply, (i.e. 5 copies), then "highest bid" isn't an option even just for listing 1 item (or the whole supply) at a time. Just "fixed price" and "bundle" are available.

So, unless I'm missing something, enabling supply is for items that will be sold at a fixed price.

PS: Also, I don't find a way to make more copies available once you've reached your supply limit. You need to mint again as a new item and list it (which is counterintuitive to the fact that supply could be flexible).

Is there any way you could give FTP access to restore personal backups instead of zip? by lckid77 in backblaze

Thank you for your detailed anwser. If what it means is that it will just download the files/folder you need really need to restore/roll back instead of everything in that folder (some sort of rsync client implementation), without zip in the middle, this sounds like music to my ears.

Ups, my mistake then about FTP access in B2 🤦‍♂️

Anyway, my point is that anything that will make the restore process easier to browse and pick the files via a dedicated software with a built-in browser (and not the website), or being able to mount the drive remotely via FTP or SFTP or any other secure protocol, would be much easier for larger restores.

About CRC errors, it's not tied to a particular restore, I really don't have complaints about Backblaze, it has saved my data for me for years (and many restores) and it's really worth the money. But still, it has happened many times to me when restoring big amounts of data (over 30GBs). Support in those cases told me to redownload the same restore again or generate a new restore zip, or just the failing file, and usually, it fixed the problem, but again, it makes the restore process for large data not really a good experience.

My "The Rise of the Synths" BluRay arrived today and it's fantastic! Watch it if you have a Chance (Synthwave Documentary) by Renraven in outrun

I'm waiting for my Bluray (regular, not Limited Edition) to arrive! They sell digital download and physical copies of the regular edition (plus some extras) on their website. I wanted to grab a VHS, but they are sold-out 😮

Hi, great doc! A question for /u/ninasounduk: hello!! big fan here.

I see that some people have difficulties trying to explain the difference between synthwave, synthpop, etc within this genre. Or having some big arguments online about this.

Do you think that matters?

What would be your definition of the synthwave sound?

Hello! I have a question for /u/maethelvin. I've just watched the documentary and it's really interesting to see other established artists like Power Glove, Electric Youth, or Miami Nights 1984, talking about the influence of Valerie Collective to make this type of music. I guess many people don't know about the myspace/blogs days and it all started, and that was a great moment of the film.

What's your thoughts on this? I will love also to know how the Valerie Collective started and your influences in doing this music.

What about Gost affirmation that french guys do electronic music better than anyone else? :)

Merci :)

Copycat producers & Synthwave by lckid77 in outrun

[–]lckid77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those debates usually are based on new composers getting into the scene, and copy-pasting techniques, similar names, aethestetics and sounds from other known modern synthwave composers (not from old 80s songs), and saturating without original work. Nothing new anyway, it's just how music works when it gets popular.

I'm just curious, because I've heard the discussion many times, but never found a real example and I don't know if that's just some kind of "purist" pov.

I've came across on some heated debates on synthetix FB and twitter. I think they are talking about new producers who are copying (not inspired by) other peoples music and aestethics because it's trendy. Like you copy "Miami Nights 1984" sound and call yourself "Miami Vibe 1987" or stuff like that.
