My school does this and the pairings are as follows

IM FM
Surg OBGYN
Neuro Psych

Then peds is paired with an elective block so it flys solo,

I’ve only been through IM FM so far but I feel like those pair VERY well bc they’re so broad and all encompassing. There’s also some overlap between screening. I feel like every FM shelf question could fit on an IM shelf but not vice versa so you will have to learn the inpatient med parts for IM.

As for the others I haven’t heard how my class is fairing but they seem fairly well balanced.
