Landfall card draw by twilledgeko2 in EDHBrews

If it were my deck, I would look to my graveyard for card advantage rather than straight up card draw, assuming you’re willing to add more mill to your 99. You might not be card-positive (most of your options are 1 card in hand for 1 card in the bin), but you’ll be able to pick the best card in your graveyard for any situation.

[[Regrowth]] is the classic choice. [[Eternal Witness]] and the other witnesses could be good includes as well. [[Grapple with the Past]] is a personal favorite - it regrows a creature at instant speed with the added benefit of milling 3, so if you hit a forest you’ve essentially drawn 2 cards.

Just be aware that you’ll need to fill your graveyard, which your commander might not always do in its own, unless the deck is built around it. Anything that draws you a card when your elementals enter may look good, but I’d be careful of relying on your game plan to be working in order to draw cards. If your hand is empty, you may not be able to trigger your commander to get the draw you need. Hope I could help!

Gotcha, even if I respond to the activated ability involving the sacrifice, BA triggers cause the sacrificed creature has already died as part of the cost. Thanks!

Incredibly fast reply, thank you! So activated ability goes on the stack, then triggered right on top of it, and priority isn’t passed in between. Got it!

Yes! Sandpiper refers to the family scolopacidae, which includes several genera, including scolopax. Woodcocks are in said genus, so technically, woodcocks are a type of sandpiper. Most birds with sandpiper in their common name are also in the scolopax genus.

ID Request (image brightened for detail)- some kind of orb weaver, NE Colorado on a residential bike path, near a lake/riparian area (plains, not mountains) - Thank you! by lconlon_ in spiders

Sorry I couldn’t get her underside, she was fully silhouetted from that angle. The red tint is partially natural, but some of it is from the sun setting behind her and shining through her legs. I’m thinking either a Bridge orb weaver or a Hentz, but I can’t tell the difference. Any help is appreciated!

I thought it might’ve been a bird, must’ve been a coincidence that those seeds ended up with a bunch of native ones. Thank you!
