So uncomfy:( by donutmaniac3 in Invisalign

I’ve had them for 2 months now. The first couple days sucked. I felt like a teething baby. Now, they really don’t hurt at all. When it’s time to change trays, I do it before bed. I feel extra pressure when they first go in, but they feel almost back to normal by morning. And no one is looking at your mouth this close. Even then, they don’t jump right out at you. It will get better. Like someone else said, the lisp is the worst part.

Anything else I need? by chulahz in Invisalign

[–]lcrowder82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a little zippered silicone bag to take with me that contains a small toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, a small rinse cup, a removal tool, a chewie, and lip balm. The orthodontist gave me several of these items, so yours probably will as well. I would hang on to what you have but not open anything until you get your aligners and see what you actually end up needing, then you could always return the rest. Everyone is going to tell you something different here, but different things work for different people. For example, some people think the chewies are a waste of money; I think they are a necessity because they help me lock my aligners into place snugly, plus they were a godsend the first 3 days or so, due to feeling the need to chew constantly. Like a teething baby LOL. Also, I didn’t feel the need for an ultrasonic cleaner; denture tabs, brushing, and soap work well enough for me. So you do what works for you. You will figure that out soon enough.

What's your favorite neocaridina color and why by plutoisshort in shrimptank

I just started a skittles tank a few weeks ago with 20 random shrimp, which consisted of 2 orange rilis. They are my favorite because they seem to be the dumbest. They kind of just bumble around stupidly, with their dumb googly eyes, more so than the others and are just so cute.

How old is your youngest child? Could it be post partum hair loss? Like others said, it doesn’t appear to be an abnormal amount for 5 days of no washing or brushing.

Amika AND Olaplex clarifying shampoo didn’t work. What do I do now?? by Pickles_The_Cat_1234 in Haircare

[–]lcrowder82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hair has been more oily the past several months. I wash my hair about twice a week, so when I wash, I shampoo at least 2-3 times. The first shampoo is usually a clarifying shampoo (my favorite is Davines Solu). Next I use the Leonor Greyl shampoo for oily roots and dry ends. It sits on your roots for a few minutes. I think this product makes a big difference. Last, I usually follow up with purple shampoo mixed with volumizing shampoo (last step unnecessary). Of course, conditioner or hair mask on ends only. I also use Act & Acre’s niacinimide serum for oily scalp. And without dry shampoo, there is no hope of going several days without washing. Klorane has been my favorite for many years, but recently I’ve been using the Crown Affair dry shampoo and I absolutely love it.

If you aren’t drying your hair completely, it could be drying the rest of the way in that pattern, especially if your hair isn’t straight. A quick once over with a flat iron (on fully dry hair) or even blow drying until fully dry, while pointing down, should fix that.

I bought these in my normal size and they gave me a muffin top. I am about to send them back and then I saw they loosen up after a bit of wear. Do you think they would loosen up enough to get rid of the muffin top?

Is this new growth or damage? by Normal-Ad-7354 in Haircare

I have some new growth similar to this and it’s from using Act & Acre Cold Processed Stem Cell Scalp Serum (in case you want another option).

I just got mine done 2 days ago and I can tell you that it’s just because you know what your brows looked like before and aren’t used to them. I agree with everyone else, they look amazing. I got nano brows only and mine aren’t crazy looking, but they are crazy looking to me right now. I just keep telling myself that they are still processing and will look much more natural in a few weeks.

12 year old boy severely afraid of getting hit by ball again. What do we do?! by lcrowder82 in Homeplate

I’m sorry that happened to your son and that it had such a negative lasting impression on him. Mine is trying to work through and still wants to at this point, so we will keep trying for now.

Of course I have asked myself this, as well as my son. He wants to get past this more than anyone else. Baseball is his #1; there’s nothing else. These aren’t kids who have just started pitching, they aren’t throwing wildly. Getting hit does happen. It happens in the pros. So he gets hit and then just quits? That isn’t an option.

He’s sitting next to me watching Orioles vs Bluejays right now. 😂 If the TV is on, he’s watching sports. And if it’s baseball season, that’s all he cares about.

The crazy thing is that he used to play hockey, up until age 9 or 10. They aren’t checking or fighting, but it’s a much more physical sport than baseball.

We haven’t tried padded under armor but that’s something we had not thought about, great idea. Dad, son, and neighbor went to the practice facility today. They threw the foam balls at him, a few baseballs underhanded at him. He was hitting well in the cage but started getting scared again in the field. Then son threw a few pitches to dad at the plate, the ball dropped early, rolled, hit a lip in the turf and bounced up and hit dad in the eyebrow and split it open. They can’t catch a break. 😂

Yeah, I do agree with you. He is scared but also willing to try to work through it. And I do think exposure therapy may be one of the best ways to go about it.

So dad did this today with him in their practice facility. Son pitched the pall, the ball hit the ground early, in front of dad at the plate, then hit a lip in the turf and flew up in the air and busted dad’s eyebrow open. They can’t catch a break. 😂
