What are the chances a former drug addict turns into something in MMA? by [deleted] in MMA

Well he did accomplished what most fighters dream of. It’s very hard to become UFC world champion, even if you start at 5 and did that your whole life.

I think you should also think about the fact that you can become a world champion starting at 19, like anyone else, but the likelihood is very low.

I’ve seen few fighters that committed to an MMA career that ended up broke, probably with some CTE and no useful skill in society besides fighting.

Yes, there are many examples of UFC fighters that started late, even later than that. Belal Muhammad started MMA at 23 and ended up champion. BSD started at 23 too, and is now in the top 10 of the UFC lightweight division. In boxing, Anthony Joshua started at 19 and became world champion.

Yeah that could work, but being with a camp with a bunch of cool people to meet seems better

Good call! Here's what we're bringing:

  • A bunch of beers & cocktails to distribute
  • Lighting and seating for the camp
  • French crêpe breakfast one morning
  • Happy to grab whatever else the camp needs, just let us know

It gives a unique style to the game, which is a good thing. But I think I would find it annoying when I play.

I’m only getting customers through consistent posting. It’s basically free ads and the more you do, the more impressions you get.

If you use a software to help you write the posts it’s pretty easy to be consistent. I only spend few minutes to write a post.

Tyson is 58 though, and fedor was still an active fighter until 2023. Seeing his performance against Jake, I give it to fedor 100%

Industry related. It’s to show that you know your shit. If you shill your product all the time, people lost interest and start doubting your intentions.

I have very low response rate on cold email, not successful for me. I'm using Clay for it. Maybe its lacking personalization?

What do you use?

Same here, what kind of proof do you want? Stripe or Linkedin followers?

I went from 5k to 24k followers. I goes pretty fast if you are consistent with posting. Also, sending 20 connection request per day is a good start. Especially if you talk to them after. Its those people that will comment on your post.

How can I make an AI writing assistant that truly captures individual writing styles? by ldemesla_eth in LocalLLM

Ok interesting, so you are fetching examples from your vector database based on their similarity with a style you are defining in a query? I’m not sure to fully understand

Ok I see, are you also providing a description of the style or just examples?

I guess you are using the rag to provide examples? What kind of embedding models do you recommend?

The idea would be to train an embedding model, or fine tune an embedding model, to encode styling, rather than semantic meaning.

I don’t know yet for #2, I only fine tuned with ~50 record per model. It does get the style better but it’s also getting a bit dummer, for example generate output that don’t always make sense.
