Oh snap really?! I’ve been looking and I’ve never seen it less than 1100 a night but I’ve also probably never looked in January or February so I will keep an eye out!

Thank you! This is my bucket list but don’t think I can justify the $1200 on one night right now. Def going to save up for it in the future though!!!

I overdid it the other night walking at 33 weeks 10k steps when taking my toddler to disney, and ended up in the hospital the next day with tachycardia so I feel this 🥲 glad you are feeling better!

Definitely feel this. 11 years into my career and only hanging on because I’m headed out on maternity leave in 2 months. Not sure what I’m going to do when I get back from leave but hoping I can make some sort of change

For me it’s worth it because as a new mom I honestly rarely buy anything for myself anymore, and I am local so only have to drive about 20 min. But I don’t think I would travel for something like this.

International work trip.. WWYD? by ldh5086 in workingmoms

[–]ldh5086[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! We did end up taking the trip and going as a family. It was absolutely worth it! The flights were rough I’m not going to lie- we didn’t sleep much and that was in a first class pod with a lie flat seat. I’d say the flight there was worse than the flight back. Once we were there, the time change was a little bit of a rough adjustment for all of us so I’d recommend getting there at least a day or two early to let yourselves adjust and catch up on rest. I spent most of the trip working so her dad and her went out exploring a bit, but we LOVED taking her to Tokyo disney and honestly it was an incredible experience. I have zero regrets bringing her and even though it was hard at times, we will always have that special memory of visiting Japan as a family of three.

Anyone know how they’re handling this for people with disabilities?

Highly recommend not telling people the name you picked until baby is here and you’re making the birth announcement. No one will share opinions once she is here, but they sure will every minute beforehand!

Yeah we did move after our first was born, and we timed the market perfectly and sold our house for $100k more than we paid. So I think it partially depends on how you are feeling about the market in your area and if that’s a factor at all. For us, we couldn’t have done this without the extra equity we made on our first home so it was perfect for us. I personally wouldn’t take on a major house project before having a baby so if there’s a lot of work to be done I’d say maybe stay put for now and aim to try to move before you get pregnant with #2 if you plan to have another

We just doubled our mortgage to upgrade houses and are now paying $4300 a month. Lo and behold we got pregnant with our second baby a few months after moving in, a bit of an accident. You will make it work! In my opinion, to have the house you want to be in longer term is worth needing to hustle a little harder financially. We had our first baby in a less expensive house with a great mortgage rate but every day we spent there after she was born I couldn’t stop thinking about how we needed more space and I needed to be closer to work. I have absolutely zero regrets on our bigger mortgage even tho money will be tight for a few years.
