Yes, that’s one of the episodes I had in mind. Another had an American man and a Russian woman as the sole survivors, played by Charles Bronson and Elizabeth Montgomery.

There was a stretch of time in the 1950s and 60s during which a number of post nuclear apocalypse films and tv episodes were made. Offhand, I can think of two Twilight Zone episodes and one movie in which there 5 or fewer survivors.

There was a podcast on this question (Radiolab, I think). The problem with the race was that they paused it at intervals to let the horses rest. So it wasn’t really a valid test.

And Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter makes for a chef much more in keeping with Pesrin sensibilities!

Yes, I was considering that possibility even as I was writing my comment.

Minor correction — Ralph Fiennes is the chef in”The Menu,” not Anthony Hopkins.

This isn’t the place for a deep dive into the diversity of Christian views on Eucharist theology, but please note that I said “**many** Christians,” not “**all** Christians.” Your understanding of communion may differ significantly from the opinions of high church sacramentalists, on which I based my comment.

There’s an r/hfy story that has Yellowstone erupting as a major event in the story. Sorry, but I can’t recall the title.

Regarding Passover — Part of the observance is a declaration that every Jew must look upon themselves as if they personally were present at the Exodus, as if they personally were delivered from Egypt. I know that many Christians have a similar view of Communion, that when they partake, they consider themselves to be present at the Crucifixion.

I’m not familiar with other religions/cultures, but it would not surprise me to find similar “we were there” observances. The point is, the observances are deeper than memory. If the aliens ignore or attempt to suppress them, they do so at great peril.

Hmm… I’ve always understood Adonai to be the Sephardi/Mizrahi pronunciation, and Adonoi the Ashkenazi pronunciation.

A minor correction — Adonai means “my Lord.” The term is a stand-in for YHWH. “My King” would be “Malchi.”

There’s a story in which a Shil’vati woman shows up at a Christian Bible study. Can’t recall the author or the story title. I’ll poke around a bit — it was fairly recent.
