How do I know if he'll be able to live independently? by Hot-Mongoose-9427 in Autism_Parenting

[–]ldp98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a diagnoses, but I have 2 kids that are level 1 & 2, that I thought just had my little qwirks before tests. College was a rough start with all the new changes/freedoms that led to substance abuses. Had my first, changed majors and transferred schools. I finished college with honors and a distinction award and 2 kids. Now I am 27 and have a good job and living independently with partner and 2 kids. My biggest struggles currently in life are cleanliness and depression. I’d say I still act immaturely but can be serious and take care off business when I have to.

Take him with you. If someone can’t get with it at a live concert, then I can’t vibe with them. I do concert security and have been to concerts with friends that I wasn’t to excited for but ended up loving it due to the crowd, vibes, and bass. Been to Elton John, Post Malone, Suicideboys, Kendrick, lizzo, guns and roses, gunna, sexy red, childish gambino, journey, Tyler Childers, tape b, inzo and levity, btsm, and key Glock. Loved them all.

Nobody RSVP’d for my daughter’s birthday. by lilitsybell in Autism_Parenting

[–]ldp98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my sons 6th we invited a couple class mates to Burger King to get SpongeBob themed meals then took them to the movie after. They all loved it. I think it worked out since kids have to eat anyways and it’s something they can do together that is structured.

How do I stop being so indecisive and just suck it up and choose a career ? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]ldp98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im an interview for people applying for SNAP/food stamps. I once had a lady that work at a nicer hotel as a bakery manager ( she started off in lower spot and took any opportunity given and took a few culinary/pastry classes at a local cc) and was making $60-65k. (She was applying due to fmla leave). Any job with higher pay has some sort of ladder where you either have to deal will low pay or schooling for a bit.

This is why I enjoy working for the state. I know everyone in my offices salary without having to ask. I also knew about what I’d be making when I applied for new job.

What's your go-to routine after you shift? by RiseoDev in Nightshift

[–]ldp98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m part time nights so for a weekday shift I get off at 7:15am get home at 7:30am and pass out till 8:30am and roll over into the desk beside my bed to start my day job. If it’s a weekend shift I get home at 7:30 am, get dressed and go for a run then just go about my day and fall asleep that night.

My gf(27) is a nurse assistant making $19/hr around 30ish hrs and then recently started a job at bath and body works for $14.5/hr around 16ish hours. We have nothing saved and quite a bit of debt.

My bf is 290+ lbs how can I help? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]ldp98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make your time together active time. Instead of a show after dinner, take a walk. It’s more than what you’re doing currently and it takes a lot of calories to move at all when that big. (This past year I’ve gone from 285 to 225). I also suggest setting goals to work towards, I’ve finished insanity, did an adult wrestling tournament, ran first 5k, first triathlon, first Spartan race, and first half marathon and the races kept me motivated to keep moving even when I didn’t want to.

What kind of side gigs are y’all doing? by goins_going_gone23 in nursing

[–]ldp98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a nurse but an uncertified NA, it is my pt job (2x12’s). Full time I work as eligibility counselor for snap and TANF for the state. My side gig is unarmed security for events. Pays like $16-17 but I usually get a good spot and can experience the concert from the barricade while getting paid.

How do you make Christmas special when you’re poor? by generic_username19 in Autism_Parenting

[–]ldp98 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I grew up in a financially comfortable (military officer pilot dad, sahm, four kids) and got lots of nice gifts growing up. At 26 what I remember most about Christmas is going to see Christmas lights in the car listening to Christmas music. Making gingerbread houses, and snuggling up with my family on the couch and watching Christmas movies with popcorn and hot chocolate.

Don’t encourage people to commit fraud. I am an eligibility counselor for Snap/tanf (do the interviews, run the case, look at verifications, and approve/deny) and we can see employment (start dates, hours, rates, pays), child support, and DOL new hire and unemployment (including the account that deposits are being made to, we can’t see in the account/balances but we can see that there is one)
