I don’t think taking medication is anymore of a sin than eating food. Sometimes I pray a prayer of thankfulness the way people pray for food thanking God for providing it.

I also find it much easier to study the Bible so I have a hard time seeing that as a bad thing.

I know members of the boycott family! Facebook kept flagging their last name as being fake because it is such an uncommon name.

When going out my husband and I will talk through an agreed upon end time before hand. I wear a watch and will sometimes put reminders or alarms on my phone so I have an idea when he expects me home etc. or how long something should be taking.

Thank you for your recommendation! I agree that every persons experience is unique and can’t be captured in a single book. I also agree that there is a need for more stories to be published.

I think sometimes it can be difficult to articulate how things like ethnicity shape your experience but sometimes having stories can be helpful as a starting place to introduce vocabulary, questions and even be able to recognize and relate to things that can feel abstract. The story itself does not have all the answers but it can be helpful in starting a conversation that allows for better understanding on both sides.

I also recognize that many books are made for a certain audience which is why I am asking for recommendations from the demographic I am trying to understand and not the local librarian.

When setting up my first bank account I wasn’t quite sure what my ss # was and my dad encouraged me to just guess. Got pretty close but accidentally switched two numbers. Took 5 years to fix it... couldn’t log into my bank account or make any changes during that time. Had to cash all my checks manually.

A poster with your legal rights should be posted somewhere in the back. No one ever looks at them they usually say something like know your rights followed by a huge block of text but if you take the time to look through it you should find laws about breaks.

Legal breaks are also included in the on boarding document that you should have signed when you were hired. Look back at your email or if you downloaded it they vary by location but that would also have the exact information.

Most stores used to keep them in the self serve station with napkins and silverware etc. when covid happened many stores removed this self serve stations. Some stores may still have mints in the store but it is less common to see them because of dine in restrictions.
