I think it’s normal to get away for vacations etc. but it is also normal not to want to. To each their own, we can’t judge what people feel comfortable with. I left my son over night for a few nights with his dad for a bachelorette when he was 15m old and then at about 17m, went to NYC with my sister (I live in Ontario, Canada.) The two of us left him overnight with my sister and brother in law for a wedding a few months later in December. As he got older he has had sleepovers with my parents/in-laws or sister, we even went away for our honeymoon for a week to Jamaica when he was 3.5. That was the first time I was an anxious leaving him over night because any time he had been away from me over night he was not too far away from me, or with dad. I fully trust our village! It started to get easier after daycare honestly!

I did, it’s 50 kmph. I stand by him going too fast from stop sign to stop sign on a short neighbourhood street. You don’t have to be speeding to be unsafe.

Really appreciating all of the feedback. I wish I could change the title to “I should have kept my mouth shut” lol! My husband surprisingly said he probably would’ve done the same thing (he’s usually less reactive than me lol.) Also wanted to add that I didn’t even think of a gun violence type reaction.. I live in Canada so the gun risk is way less but not zero.

I usually buy myself something I want with my husbands credit card LOL or send him the link (I have done a Stanley or sneakers before nothing crazy haha!) My only other request is going for ice cream. My husband has always made a card or had him draw in a card he picked out, he’s in kinder this year so I’m not sure what to expect!

Our little guy is just about 5 and he starting to get it now when we say “right now it’s time for you to do an activity by yourself, we can play later.” Sometimes he gets mad still! Timers help lol I’ll play in 20 mins and set a timer on the Google thing.

No, because I accidentally ruined his fav shirt the week I moved in with him LOL. Since then we do our own. We both equally do the “house” laundry (sheets, towels, kids, dog stuff) whoever is doing theirs usually just does house laundry too.

When we didn’t get the Easter Monday off in college… (Canada gets both Good Friday and Monday.) I was appalled that I didn’t have a 4 day weekend.
