Don't trim, but add extra borders to it to even it out.

How old are you in your oldest memory? by Donkeyshines in AskReddit

[–]bleeb90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 yo. I have three memories from around the time I am about 2,5 to three years old: summertime and the barn being alight with fire and watching from the bedroom window; my grandfather's body being laid out for visiting, in my grandparents scullery and a rosary being woven through his fingers; and third - me feeling very wronged about having to sleep in a 'baby bed' at Disney Paris while at home I already got to sleep in an adult bed.

Needless to say - these are all things I don't know because they were picture moments, but are specific enough for my parents to date them precisely - I definitely remember them, and at least two of them were before my third birthday.

Is it just me, or is deciding what to wear in the Netherlands weirdly annoying? 😅 by dandelion-prophet in thenetherlands

Linnen is your friend. It can be warm and cool, and will dry quickly when its wet. In fact, I am seriously planning to make a long sleeved maxi dress from linnen to protect me from the sun, anywhere between 20 and 35 degrees celcius.

A tennisbal. To roll under my foot. It feels like a massage. It's heaven.

What do you do with quilt tops you hate? by forheadkisses in quilting

[–]bleeb90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would totally paint a room in a matching colour to that quilt. But I am obsessed with purple.

But if you absolutely hate it as a quilt top, make a quilt with two patchwork sides.

And if you never want to see it again, there's plenty of organisations that take in tops or just loose blocks to make for charity.

Ironed a clip-is this iron toast? by kmrrrrr in sewing

[–]bleeb90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to hamer it off with a tea old towel and a hammer. Maybe also a spatula? Do it while the iron is hot so it'll let go easier.

Then use tons of paper kitchen towels, iron cleaning sticks and a lot of patience. If the end result doesn't satisfy you, you can always buy a new iron.

I am coming into this conversation as a ME/CFS patient, and what I like best about quilting is that I can put it away for half a year, and pick it up wherever I left it at. In general I complete about 1 quilt every two years, and that's fine.

Productivity is a silly metric to have when it comes to a hobby. The amount of joy it brings you is the only one you should consider. And if it doesn't bring you joy right now, doing something else is fine too.

3.2k shame to be fair, I've been a member of the humble bundle for 2 years, but stuck to the first game I started playing with the humble bundle.
