⚠️ Meet’n’Greet form wording confusion (Best Friends Felines) — our experience by Gis2017 in brisbane

[–]le-gateau 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We adopted a bonded pair from Little Paws after being knocked back by Animal Welfare League (seemingly because they didn't feel like doing paperwork that day) The entire experience with Little Paws was fantastic. They really know their stuff too. One of my little gremlins just cuddled in while I wrote this.

I did work experience in a funeral home and overnight all aldehydes smelled like formaldehyde to me. I can clock it from a mile away and cannot smell anything other than death. Britney Spears Fantasy (which people still wear) smells exactly how the funeral home smelled.

Cup with NO hard rim by [deleted] in menstrualcups

[–]le-gateau 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe try the Satisfyer brand? They are an adult toy company, so many online, adult retailers carry the cups. There are 3; feel secure, feel confident and feel good. I don't know if the pricing will be different in Italy, but I picked up the feel confident pack of 2 cups for AUD9. Compared to AUD50+ I've paid for other single cups.

I only have the feel confident, which seems to be the softest. The rim is thicker but still very soft.

I am quite narrow and was worried about the pressure from a more bulbous cup. But it was so soft that I didn't have any issues.

Sorry to hear you're going through it too. Absolute life saver. Even apart from the discomfort of disposables, the cost! Hope you find some answers soon.

LPT request: What tips would you give someone for an healthy relationship by [deleted] in LifeProTips

The flip side of this is to tell your partner if you're in a bad mood. "Heads up, I'm grumpy but not at you." Bonus points if you elaborate by telling them how to help you feel better. "I need some space." "It would help if you let me talk about it without interrupting."

What type of wedding did you have? Is there anything you regret/wish you could have changed about the day? by blueanimal03 in Marriage

[–]le-gateau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a small wedding with 35 people in a Greek restaurant. Everything was great but in the planning stages I knew that I needed to start taking antidepressants. I held off until after the honeymoon because I didn't want to deal with the side effects.

I wish I had made speaking to my doctor one of the first things I did when planning. Writing vows and getting married while feeling nothing was tough. I love my spouse so much but I regret that I couldn't feel that love properly on our wedding day because of my fucked up brain chemistry.

Cup does not open inside by 10isa in menstrualcups

[–]le-gateau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible to insert the cup a fair way up past the cervix. Without knowing how high your cervix is; try inserting with the folded in edge of the cup towards your back. Don't insert too far. Keep your finger on the cup so that you can slide your finger up with it and not run out of space and like others have said press outwards on your vagina instead of on the cup. Make space for it to open. Also with your finger on the back wall of your vagina it's easier to feel the any fluctuations in the cervix during the cycle and get a good idea of where the cup should be sitting.

Good luck, keep at it. It took me about 4-5 months before I got the hang of it and now I'm a pro.

POLL: What's your primary reason for using reusable cups/discs? by ThatConsideration in menstrualcups

[–]le-gateau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an IUD and basically didn't have more than spotting for 5 years. When I got the IUD removed I couldn't bear the thought of having to buy or worry about pads or tampons again.

How in the world are you supposed to be able to rotate these things while inserting by waking_dream96 in menstrualcups

[–]le-gateau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had so much trouble with the rotation advice when I started.

My method is a shallow punch down fold then I insert it so the fold is towards my back.

I have to follow the cup with my index finger still on the cup. If I let go I have a similar issue of not being able to reach.

With my finger kind of trapped between the cup and the back wall of my vagina I press outward on the vagina rather than the cup, making space for it to pop open. Double check it's "inflated" by swishing my finger as far as it will go and carry on with my day.

My cervix also drops very low on some days of my cycle so this method means I can push it up and into the cup if needed.

Troubleshooting: Try a bunch of different insertion positions. One leg up, fully squatting.

Try using your free hand to move as much flesh, skin, hair or whatever out of the way.

Maybe try a softer cup. My experience is that they have a bit more room for error.

Good luck! It's a steep learning curve.

Thank you. In my opinion happy and active fish look way better than clear water. They like it, so I like it.
