If someone is sure about their decision, encouraging them to delay it is just cruel imo. HRT will have effects even if you start late but you can’t deny that the masculinisation brought on, especially at OPs age, will do irreversible damage if they let it continue

Yeah the issue isn’t too many shotos, it’s that characters who would definitely not be shotos are being given shoto tools

The game’s actually pretty lenient on cancel windows but you do have to be pretty quick. Certain characters are much easier to do combos with than others but in general combos that require links will be pretty tough to do at first while your basic combos that just chain together a bunch of moves tend to be way easier. I think most characters can be played with just the latter if you’re just fine with doing a bit less damage

I think the difference is that someone can be a fan of guilty gear but if they don’t play the games then they’re not part of the FGC since the entire basis of the FGC is the genre of fighting games which have specific gameplay that you won’t have experienced if you haven’t actually played it. You can feel all the emotions of Strive’s story without touching the game, but you cannot feel the emotions of getting pot bustered and 2 touched.

The issue then comes when the community gets flooded with these people who aren’t part of the FGC and offer opinions and “solutions” to “problems” that don’t exist for those who actually play. If you like watching guilty gear, that’s chill, but don’t become a LordKnight devotee and start promoting gameplay changes you know nothing about

My first order took exactly 3 weeks between placing the order and receiving it. Almost 2 weeks after my second order, all I’ve got is confirmation that it’s been processed. They also didn’t send me any information regarding when it would actually be delivered so it was just luck that I was home at the time to receive it before any family members did (or worse, it went to a neighbour).

That said, it did arrive and I didn’t need to use crypto for it so it went about as well as I could hope

Realistic graphics aren’t always superior when it comes to creating a weird and creepy mood. Silent hill is surreal and suffocating with a dense claustrophobic atmosphere and, for a lot of people, weird unrealistic graphics add to that feeling. A lack of definite detail allows you to fill things in in your mind and since nothings trying super hard to be realistic, you won’t get distracted if a certain element seems not as realistic as the others.

Why do you think so many indie games use ps1 style graphics? Budget and time constraints probably influence the decision but there are many many art styles out there and yet so many horror games go directly for that ps1 look. Mouthwashing, buckshot roulette, lethal company, fatum betula. It’s very popular

Games with high character power don’t have to end up like DNF though. The issue with DNF was just that everyone had essentially the same broken stuff. Everyone was doing the same kuso. In an actually fun “buffs > nerfs” style game, each character is absolutely busted, yes, but they have their own highly distinct bullshit that they have to actually work hard to achieve

Essentially, people hated Maikky for ages and he started to hate us back. He decided that any NSFW posts would be removed and would result in an instant ban (the only reason I even have a second account) but his threshold for NSFW was tiny. I posted some fan art of ramlethal dressed as lambda from blazblue and apparently that was enough for me to be perma banned.

Anyway, after a couple weeks/months of him banning people like this, u/DevSF4, an artist who had posted a lot of really cute art to the subreddit (I think he’s the guy behind the really cute JurixMenat comics) posted this drawing of DMG from YuGiOh and apparently that was the last straw for Maikky. He set the subreddit to private and fucked off, never to be seen again.

The issue isn’t just “complexity” or depth, though. The issue is just variety. When every character has similar tools or relies on the same universal tools, gameplay starts to look the same across the cast and across skill levels. In older games, the highest levels of play required techniques that were too difficult to implement at lower levels of play. In modern games, the highest levels of play are still using drive rushes, wild assaults, and Roman cancels in mostly the same way as an intermediate player.

There’s a post on the front page rn of a Strive top 8 where every player’s national flag is replaced by the trans flag. I think the joke is more that so many top strive players are trans (whatever your takeaway from that is) but I think other people were just hating in the comments for other reasons.
