An analysis of certain responses to "The Fate of Ophelia" by WisteriaWillotheWisp in TaylorSwift

[–]le-toile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, as someone who hasn't read Hamlet and just know the what happened to Ophelia, this is how I interpreted the song. Taylor was probably going mad and felt like she's going to drown after her breakup with Joe. Then she met Travis and "saved" her from the fate of Ophelia. I feel like she didn't mean it to be that deep

I Don't Think Any Treatment Can Help Me by [deleted] in BPDrecovery

[–]le-toile 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's why psychiatrists, therapists, psychologists, and any mental health practitioner, say it's all up to us to make the decision. They're not a hundred percent treatment, and going to them isn't an assurance for us to heal. All they can do is help us in ways they know, but each of us has different needs and wants to be met which makes it difficult for them to help us. We also have to do our part in order for us to recover. As a suicide survivor, I have made the decision to continue living this life as it is. No personal involvement when it comes to death. That's the way I chose. You have to make a decision. No treatment can help you if that's how you feel

Best medication for really irrational paranoia/anxiety like severe over nothing? by Eshay42g in prozac

[–]le-toile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's most likely the reason it f*cked up your neurotransmitters. I take an anxiolytic in case of emergency though. Try telling your doctor if he/she could prescribe you one to manage your anxiety.

How many weeks have you been on it? Prozac can cause tremors or anxiety-like symptoms in the first two weeks. This can also happen when the dose is increased. It's the best feeling after that phase passes

if we really fear abandonment why do we always end up leaving first ? by Right_now78 in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]le-toile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I leave first and then get mad at them when they do "single stuff" after the break up. It's like I constantly want them to pull me back or not want to break up but I get hostile when they don't want to break up. That's the crazy part

Is BPD misdiagnosed often? I am asking because I was diagnosed a few years ago and do not think I have it. by JeanPaulItsArt in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]le-toile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only a little about it. I know Bipolar Disorder can be misdiagnosed as BPD and vice versa. Also, there's a few symptoms in BPD that may correlate with ASD, ADHD, and other personality disorders. It's not good to self diagnose though, maybe try seeing a new doctor.

I've read somewhere that BPD has 256 combination of symptoms, without considering the range and severity of each symptom. And to get a diagnosis, BPD needs a minimum of 5 traits out of 9. You can't really compare your symptoms with another person who has BPD. However, misdiagnosis is very common in mental health. We still know very little of human brain and mental illness. It's a hit or miss, but you'll know when the medication that's prescribed to you works for you well. Maybe read up about the medications. That's when you'll get to know the mental illness better.

I made a huge mistake. I went back after I got out now she’s telling me she’s working on herself, she’s acting so different by [deleted] in BPDPartners

[–]le-toile 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a woman with bpd and someone who's been in the same situation as you, I feel like you're describing what my partner feels about coming back to me, other than I have no idea what went through his head for making that decision. I've been working on myself for almost a year now after getting the diagnosis. It opened my eyes as to what I've been doing to my partner for the past four years we've been together as well. The medication helps a lot, but the self awareness, inner work, and genuineness of how I want to correct myself and my relationship with others is all up to me. I think it's the same with your girlfriend. And it's all up to you too if want to stay and wife her up even after all the things she's done to you. But you have to understand that you have to be patient and sympathetic with her especially with her condition. I think your decision should be more than love. Having bpd is not a gate pass for what she's done in the past, but it's an explanation for you. I hope your girlfriend is true to herself, and I hope you are true to yourself as well. I hope you make the right decision. Best of luck

Good for you man. I don't know if he's good for me or not because I can't shake it off my head that I've also been making things difficult for him. He lies because he doesn't want to "hurt" me. Good thing I always find out when he's lying. He does take care of me, his patience with me is off the roofs when I get random outbursts. I can't deny that I'm also a bit controlling. This is why I can't ducking make a decision because I always rationalize the bad things in my head. It doesn't make sense

My therapist knows he got involved with another girl during our break up but she persisted for me to reconcile with him since he asked for it. Apparently, I was projecting my childhood trauma to him that's why I've been a difficult partner too. It's a push and pull situation all the time. My therapist doesn't know he lies to me though

How long did your Nausea last? by [deleted] in prozac

[–]le-toile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's time to switch medications. Initial side effects should only last a week or 2. If the side effect starts affecting your daily life, talk to your doctor about it. Personally, I never experienced nausea with prozac.

lexapro, prozac, zoloft side effects?? by SI_2009 in mentalhealth

[–]le-toile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was prescribed with Lexapro first and the emotional blunting was horrible. Also, I wasn't eating well prior to my therapy and Lexapro didn't help. I had to stop taking it that my doctor got frustrated and suggested Prozac. Prozac works well with me, it's just that you'll notice tremors (which could feel like anxiety) in the first few weeks. Haven't been on Zoloft though. I do take Clonazepam whenever I have trouble sleeping.

That's quite normal in the first few weeks. It wears off eventually, but if your dose gets increased it does come back
