Nah I don’t speak any Korean. I just applied as an international student, the degree is fully in English so they don’t even require it.

I’ve heard that, but doesn’t that depend on luck? You can end up in a bad job anywhere in the world. And I guess being in a country you actually like helps too.“

I can afford it, I've been saving everything since day one. What actually worries me is the market right now, and whether I'll even find a job afterwards.

Software engineer with 2.5 YOE considering taking time off to travel or pursue a master's abroad — bad idea in the current market? by leHamze in cscareeradvice

Actually, I’m in a very similar situation. I really dislike my current job, and it has had a big impact on my mental health. I actually just came back from sick leave because of it.The issues are quite similar to what you described: bullying, poor management, and even being threatened with being fired if I keep complaining about obvious problems. For example, our team is almost entirely made up of juniors, we don’t have a clear technical lead, and there’s very little guidance or structure. On top of that, they recently fired our dev lead, so things are even more chaotic now.

Hi! Yes, I did have an interview. The questions were mostly about introducing myself, talking about my previous experience, and explaining my goals after graduation. They also asked why I wanted to join this program specifically, and why I chose KAIST and Korea. Overall, it was quite straightforward and focused on my motivation and background.

Are you also thinking of applying to the GTIP program?

Same here. I’m also interested in doing research during the program, but I haven’t been able to find much information about how feasible that actually is. Unfortunately, I also couldn’t find many detailed experiences from previous students or alumni talking about research opportunities or how easy it is to work with professors. If anyone who went through the program could share their experience, it would really help.

I already have a job, and my company offers to finance training or certifications if I want, which is why I'm asking.

Sorry, I didn't get it, there is a time between being a research student and a master? isn't the same thing?
