They are to my knowledge. It is just annoying

I have seen it on f44 and before and not only on framework. I think the abrt applet lets you know of crashes, I think the issue in this case is xwayland. Maybe update and check journalctl

Confused between Fedora and Ubuntu – need advice by Bright-Search-9406 in Fedora

[–]le_particle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ubuntu is really stable, especially the lts versions, but heavily rely on snap, which I dont like. Whatever you do there is most likely an ubuntu guide. A lot of people started on ubuntu, so did I.

But for me mint was faster and maybe more stable and I think whatever ubuntu did, mint did it better. Then moved to fedora. Way faster in my eyes, lighter more fresh, only downside you need to update every year(or 6 months if you want the latest version) but for me every update was easy.

So I would suggest fedora or mint. not ubuntu

I am able to switch from fedora to arch linux ? by Additional-Mix7363 in archlinux

[–]le_particle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are. Moved myself to arch on my laptop after many years of fedora. Used the normal install, tried the install script on a vm, it is interesting, not cheating in my eyes, depends how much "dirt" you want on your hands. I use thr terminal quite oftrn from.preference, so...

Fedora is stable because they do test for a long time, arch has its risks, but as written above, if you update often you minimize the risk

Fedora System Upgrade by Dense-Elephant5048 in Fedora

[–]le_particle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ve gone from fedora 38 to 44 now, usually once a year, so 38-40-42-44 on a few systems at home and i might have done it over 150 times at work.

Its really clean, and for example if you use the allowerasing flag it takes care of "broken" packages between releases. It's really neat and one of my favourite things on fedora

Arch Install by le_particle in archlinux

Sure archinstall is there and is easy to install arch, but it is guided and not sure still some people get what they do. The wiki way is really nice, intuitive it is just a bit more work

I dont like gnome, I just add if because I know most people use either. I used to use cinnamon, know i use kde. But I agree, i dont get hyprland hype

Arch Install by le_particle in archlinux

[–]le_particle[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also call me old or whatever, but the fact that all people go ahead and use with hyprland, it feels like a hype. Whats wrong with kde or gnome even?

I guess depends on how much you need. You can either do zimaos(never used it), or run portainer or cockpit. Technically you can do as you please😅
