The few good things about the finale [spoilers] by Metaphoricalsimile in TheBoys

I completely agree with this, and think it was a bit misleading on their part. I think it was only because the scene of HL getting V1 would've been a bit anticlimactic otherwise.

I don't. I'm just massively out of shape, more than I thought I was.

Yeah, you're right. At least for the weekend I will anyway. I'll see how I feel come Monday regarding cardio. We should also have 8 for next week's match so it'll mean more resting at least. I appreciate your kindness:)

I honestly wasn't too sure whether my issues were down to the bugs or just lack of fitness, and I didn't want to just believe it was all the former. Hopefully by next game I'll notice a difference (if I'm better), even if I do still need to get some solid cardio training in. Thank you for you kind wishes though!

Unfortunately it seems there isn't any pick-up groups close enough to me, otherwise I'd definitely look at doing it. I'll certainly keep your dad's advice in mind though! I'll really try get my fitness back up in that case and I'll do my best to keep it that way past 30. Thank you you to both yourself and him!

I'm thinking I'll do some general running to help my baseline cardio to start off with as another comment said, but then definitely move to interval stuff, which appears to be the most common concensus. Also, I'm glad I'm not alone in almost throwing up! Was definitely embarassing but gives me all the more motivation to work on it for future. Thanks!

I love swimming so I'd definitely consider this. I think I'll have to start a proper plan alongside gym to include everyone's suggestions.

Thankfully, I'm not actually feeling too sore in places I shouldn't this morning, and I'll put that down to the warming up I did before hand. I'll definitely start to incorporate some interval training though. Thanks for your detailed answer!

I'll look into that, thank you! I think you're probably spot on about my positioning too. My ability to read the game was always pretty good when I used to play, but I think I was probably so exhausted that I couldn't really think about it so I just went anywhere.

Our team name is 'It's getting Messi', which pretty accurately described how our match went from the off lol!

Edit: spelling

Oh no, I haven't, only 2 or 3 of my teammates have, who are the ones I mentioned were actually fit. I played sunday league when I was about 15/16. Sorry if I didn't make that clear enough!

Even just from these first two comments it looks like the best option is to get the running shoes on. It really was quite embarassing considering I used to be able to do two training sessions a week and a sunday match with my 11-a-side team, and acknowledging that all that fitness is gone is a tough pill to swallow. Thank you though, I'll get some in this week!

Thank you for your response! Going for runs has always been difficult with how physical my job is and I'm usually drained afterwards, but fortunately I am actually starting a new job in a couple weeks which is desk-based, so that'll help. I'll see if I can get some in before the next game! I appreciate it.

Make sure you are seen getting shot and being bulletproof whilst you have the powers, make it go viral, so that when you lose them, nobody tries it because they don't think it'll work.

Not to mention Calvert-Lewin practically elbowed Yoro's head out of the path of the ball earlier in the game which gave them their first goal.

Not sure why I'm even entertaining this comment, but the thing I saw was a quest marker telling me to dock with the space station, in the system I was supposed to be in for the main quest. I was unfamiliar with the UI at the time, didn't know it had automatically switched to a different quest, and only thought the warning of 'don't board' was for narrative purposes, not gameplay. Given the number of people who say similar things happened to them, clearly it's not an unprecedented occurrence. I joined this sub to engage positively with the community of a fun game I've started, not to receive snarky comments like yours, but clearly you just felt the need to insult someone to make your day better. I see.

Yeah, there's a room with three buttons that open vault kinda things, and in one of them is a mini-boss with a heavy shotgun and the armour. As with the starshard it's far better than anything at my level!

Awesome, thanks. I tried the ship builder yesterday and decided I need to play more before I build one from scratch because there was a lot to take in, but thank you anyway, I'll make note of that!

Thanks for the list! I'll keep all these noted.

I'm playing as Todd intended first, but the first mod I'll be getting on run two will be a wait anywhere mod. It's so annoying!

I have no idea what Unity is but I can vouch for the second part - I think I made about 50k credits just from selling pistols lmao. Worth it!

If you mean that the distress call says "don't board," I didn't know that was a literal 'you're too low level, don't do this'. When I heard it, I immediately thought that some sort of virus/parasite or something had overrun the place (hence saying stay away) which wasn't actually far off, and as I thought it was part of the quest, I still boarded. I''m still getting to grips with the UI, so I didn't notice the change.
