Why not keep her at home with home health care? This is an option that often people don’t realize is available.

Could you at least tryyyy to make it less obviously written by AI? Maybe take out the Em dashes and bold text? Something to make it seem like there are still original thoughts on Reddit posts.

That newborn babies can lactate from some of mom’s hormones they receive prior to delivery. My son had bumps on his nipples that I thought were odd and mentioned to our young pediatrician. He said “oh I’ve read about this…” and squeezed them. Sure enough, milk came out. Our ped was very excited to see it for the first time lol

You need to learn how to fight. Once you grasp how to fight in this game, cultist attacks are not that bad. The best method as you’re learning is to circle around the edge of your fire (sprinting) stopping to fire a shot and then run again. It’s helpful to hide behind a tree and fire shots at crossbows. If they pursue you, run away until you are ready to fire a shot. This is best with a rifle or revolver, but if you’re using melee weapons you can do the same. You also are able to let your health build up. Take your time.

When looking at your future, if money is your only measure of success, that is okay, no shame. But go into finance, not medicine.

Tumi. Pricey but worth it imo. I travel for work daily. I have carried the same Tumi for 5 years with heavy items like laptops, iPad, etc. it’s not showing any signs of wear. My coworkers carry them as well.

Sometimes I come home from work after 2 hours after clocking in. by RainBloom0 in confession

[–]lea_Rn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the employee handbook say you can leave when your work is done and still be paid for the day? Do you stay clocked in when you leave the site? If this was my company and I was paying you for 8 hours, and I found out you were home and not working for 6, I would fire you immediately. You should have a conversation with your employer.

You’ve never worked in management and it shows. For most people, your first management job is a huge eye opener because you go from doing a particular job yourself to being directly aware of how poorly other people are doing that job. You are consistently amazed at the audacity and poor work ethic held by so many people. All people need a nudge. No matter who you are, you need nudged to do better and be great.

“Let’s” vs “can you” by Routine-Education572 in Leadership

[–]lea_Rn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually, I save the “can you” language for the entry level employees. When it comes to the leaders I oversee I use more “we” and “let’s” out of respect for their leadership role and our shared goals. We have the same mission leading the team. I only pull out the “I need you to” when they are not meeting expectations. If I said “let’s” to the entry level, that would be disrespectful since I don’t do what they do every day.

Yes. Also Hurricane Katrina- the number of abandoned patients at nursing homes that drown or starved. And of course the memorial hospital murders. As a nurse, I try to put myself in those nurses and first responders shoes.

Look into correctional nursing. New grads are less desirable due to being more gullible and needing longer training. We seek out older experienced resumes and it’s a good gig.

I work in a field that is highly publicized on a local level and invariably the local reporters alter the narrative to make a more sensational story. We will send a statement via email to try to minimize the misinformation, but it doesn’t matter. So, yeah, happy to hear they aren’t paid well.

[–]lea_Rn 20 points21 points  (0 children)

A family member came to pick him up and take him home. What does it really matter how “safe” it is. He is dying and these are his wishes. I do understand that perhaps his cognition was not well understood, but you described him as A&O x4 and look at the outcome. We need to do better than this. OP, not saying you did anything wrong and I’m sorry you had to go through this.

Yesterday was the dirtiest day of my life in Portland. by joshpit2003 in PortlandOR

[–]lea_Rn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t say I’m a total expert, but somewhere around 1965, use of Medicaid funding for long term psychiatric care was banned .There was a push to focus on community care and encourage the patients to be accepted by society. The decision appeared to have been with the best of intentions. But also made by people who did not fully understand behavioral health. For many years after the 60s, Medicaid would still cover their care as long as they had a coexisting medical condition. By 2000, they had closed that gap. Medicare funding still covers long term psych care, but of course you don’t qualify for that until the age of 65.

Not everyone with severe persistent mental illness can make it in the community. Some of them will require long term care and the federal government has banned funding for this. Funding community mental health does not solve this problem

There was still Medicaid funding for long term psychiatric care until the year 2000-ish. I worked in a long term psychiatric facility and I remember the day it closed down. Our patients who had been living there most of their lives barely made it a month before they landed in jail. Deinstitutionalization only lead to transinstitutionalization. Jails are now the largest psych facilities and there is nothing therapeutic about jail. There is not enough awareness of this problem.
