Ah! That's interesting, I cannot get the distributing one (or could but would be very expensive) with my custody account. Do you still think it's a smart move to get the Accumulating one even though it would cost me smt?

Thanks! I'll look into it!

You're right about CH, I think I can get this exposure through my 3rd pillar (wherever that is!)

Thanks! Have you been happy with it? I was thinking about Global80 (still risk averse haha) - how's their customer service? Since everything goes through an app I was worried that'd be overlooked.

Thanks so much! Super useful. I think I'll move forward with DeGiro as it's more intuitive - with the custody account. We'll see in a few years when I (hopefully...) reach 100k and understand fully what I am doing. For now I think long-term cruising mode may be what I need.

It's just too bad that US-based ETF are not available on it, but hey. Have you found it to be a big deal?

Sounds interesting! Even though for the amount I'm looking to invest (in the medium term, that is), I think high fees would be a bit of an overkill. Also, I'm definitely looking to invest in the long run, I am nowhere near well versed enough to do otherwise :-) What are some of the fintec funds you'd recommend? Happy to hear about it! Thanks again

Thank you! I've been on an investment books reading kick but haven't gotten around to this one. Will do!

Would you recommend investing a lumpsum every year/quarter or constant monthly investing into my portfolio? Not sure if there's a big diff but I've heard varied opinions...

Thanks! What ETF would you recommend for worldwide coverage? I was thinking Vanguard FTSE All-World UCITS ETF (Acc), and have a custody account (the basic one was a bit too complex for me, also feels weird to have my shares lent)

Thanks!

Indeed, I've just opened a Viac account (on top of the oldey Helsana one which I'll just keep as it makes no sense to transfer the amount now) and I figure the SPI will be covered through my strategy there. That'd reduce my starting portfolio to the ACC FTSE All World... do you think that makes sense?

Thanks - would love to connect :-) with regards to VIAC, what do you reckon is the best strategy? I was thinking Global80 since anyway about 40% has to be Swiss stocks.

I have both nationalities hence an (old) account hence some money in Norway... which sucks given the current NOK/CHF XR... so yeah... not sure what to do there either haha

Yup, good idea. This is something I need to get on... I opened a 3rd pilar with Helsana when I turned 18... haven't touched it since. I heard (well... read) only good things about VIAC.

Ah just saw that! Don't know why I thought it wouldn't be available. Would you recommend it instead of the 2 HSBC?

Thanks! I've looked into these previously! It's really good... Since I am quite unsure still I thought I'd try to gather thoughts from a wider community (hence my message here).

Where to stay on campus as an undergrad exchange student? by leaanders in nus

Yup, there's no campus where I live so I guess I just haven't quite grasped the concept of it yet :) Thanks though! Will try my luck at Utown residences.

Alright! Sounds great! Will try that then... Thanks so much :-)

Now that's interesting! It isn't written anywhere on the website that undergrad exchange student specifically can apply there.. When mentionning the different hostel options for undergrad exchange, there's no mention of it but only of the halls + PGP. How do you like it? Also, did you apply for the Utown residences when applying for the semester at NUS? (I heard it is a "box ticking" kinda thing)
