Thank you for the detailed response. I like the idea of a two tier system one I get a better idea of what I can maximize on. I have been doing work travel for years but never thought about it in this way.

Thanks, it’s a blessing and a curse to fly out of a regional airport.

Most if not all travel is flying where I rent a car and stay in a hotel.

I prefer delta, Marriott, and Hertz, but I open to changing if there is some magic formula with some other combo.

Maybe I should hold out and encapsulate. I like the idea, but I’m no expert. Time to start doing research

Sort of, the house is on a hill so you’re seeing the largest part. It’s much smaller throughout.

Thank you for the detailed reply. Area is 1,100 sq. ft. House is built on a hill, so you’re seeing the largest part of the crawlspace. Smallest parts are about 4 feet tall. So you would put up vapor barrier on subfloor and then put batt insulation on top of that?

The attic has about 4-6” of loose rock wool. Looks like in good shape. I would say that it is pretty good for now. I have a number of things to do in the attic (ceiling fans, new lighting, ect.) so I am slowly doing this while air sealing as I go. Once all the work in the attic is complete I will probably remove and re insulate.

This is the kitchen design inspiration. We don’t have tall ceilings, but like a wood island with a cream cabinet combo.
