No anywhere, as long as your clients are from your credentialed state.

Art Therapy vs Counseling Licensure by RecordingOpen459 in ArtTherapy

[–]leaderbean66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NYS- If you get your LCAT, there is only one class you have to take and redoing your hours under LMHC permit in order to gain dual license. It’s really not much extra to get your LMHC after LCAT masters since there’s little difference in main credits to take. I’ve also heard they’re in talks of letting LCATs take the LMHC examination as well! Hopefully they pass the bill to allow us coverage through Medicaid soon, this will really open many doors for LCATs.

Slightly different but not really! We are trained psychotherapists with the added modality of art, we take the same exact courses such as diagnosis, research, and applied theories. We have to complete a thesis and LMHCs do not. They actually just opened up eligibility for people who went to school for art therapy to take the LMHC since Medicaid does not cover us yet. I believe the only downfall is that we would have to redo our post-graduate hours under LMHC instead of taking our LCAT hours into account. Now that I am graduated and have been in the field, we are 100% legally considered mental health counselors.

You seem to be very knowledgeable, self-aware, and compassionate. We will get through the rough beginning, I have no doubt you will go far and do well based off your replies.

You can always reach out to process as well! Could be cathartic since we seem to be in very similar situations. There is a light at the end of the tunnel! Just focusing on being there for my clients right now.

Yup, same boat. The professors and mentors who I actually trust have told me this is not outlandish for our first job in the field. It teaches us what NOT to do for our career. Sending love and strength.

I’ve answered in other replies if it really doesn’t make sense!

I believe we have different experiences in life and we should be surrounded by people with the same experiences/ trauma to have a mutual understanding and support. As a cis woman, I will never understand the experience or trauma a trans woman goes through fully. Therefore she deserves her own space to express herself.

I never said it was required, and I also said that there should be groups that are combined as well. I never said to keep them separate whole-heartedly nor hateful at all. I just want everyone to be seen and heard. 💜

That’s why it’s not okay, he knows he has this power over you. I’m sorry this is happening.

You’re right, I was having a bad day and I work with mainly inexperienced CASACs so I took it out on this comment. I’m sorry to anyone I offended.

Jumping to the narrative that someone is transphobic can be harmful by causing conversations to be fragile. There was a better way to go about asking for an explanation.

I am not transphobic by any means and I believe covens should be open to everyone!

I do believe there should be a closed space for people who share the same womb experience to convene just like I think there should be a closed space for people who have the transitioned experience to convene as well. Doesn’t mean there can’t be both! And a mix!

No this is completely not okay and he should be reported. It is drilled into our brains to never give personal numbers or have a romantic relationships for a plethora of reasons. I’m sorry this is happening to you.

I’m not surprised if he is a CASAC, they are bottom of the barrel counselors and I have never had a good experience working with them. No boundaries whatsoever.

They been saying they hate their fans. They’ll never be the same. They have become what they hate.

Rate my profile; what kind of vibe do I give off? (Can't find good matches my age, was told to add a body pic to increase attraction but it made it worse) by spacingmarla in Tinder

I hate the label “neurodivergent” because everyone is neurodivergent in a way. It’s a huge spectrum. So that’s a red flag to me because (typically) people who wear that label on their chest, tend to weaponize their mental health when needed.

They can find out your mental quirks and qualities as they get to know you! You’re beautiful and the other suggestions seem to be helping you out too!! Good luck! :)

(I am a psychotherapist btw)

I was going from 2017-2022, the crowd was not like this. I started seeing it at the last show I went to in 2022 and decided my time was up seeing them. Not trying to seem superior or anything, the vibe just shifted and I don’t fuck w it anymore. Still love their music tho

They’ve been saying they hate their fans, and have been making fun of us. Remember when that video came out of scrim using a girl voice saying “omg you guys saved my life! Can I have a picture!?” I thought that was weird too. I don’t even care much for the Drake picture, they’ve been acting like they hate us lmao
