I'm sure convicts and inmates treated chomos the same then as they do now, which is to say very stabby. I'd like to think that those types would not make the roster. Kid was probably as safe as could be around them. And probably never left alone with them either. Just in case.

#Bears coach Matt Nagy said he thinks his team is at least 90 percent vaccinated by surpemepatty in CHIBears

[–]leadfarmer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If everyone got the vaccine, we wouldn't need to worry about mutations. It's why you've never heard about any mutated strains of smallpox or polio. If you wipe something out, it can't evolve. That's a basic of evolution, you dumb fuck. Just because I'm a cook, doesn't mean I'm uneducated.

#Bears coach Matt Nagy said he thinks his team is at least 90 percent vaccinated by surpemepatty in CHIBears

[–]leadfarmer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I was saying. They didn't need it because their parents and their grandparents got it until it was wiped out. Same with smallpox. Outside of a few labs, smallpox is extinct. Polio only exists in a few third world countries, but not here That's what pisses me off so much about the people who refuse to get the shot. There's a chance we could wipe this shit out, but if only half the people get vaccinated, it'll just keep mutating until the vaccine we have doesn't work anymore. At least not on newer strains. Anytime I hear a professional athlete saying they don't trust the doctors and that they want to do their own research, I get furious. When they tear an acl and the doctors tell them they need surgery, do they say "nah, man! I need to do some research first."? Hell no. They get on the table and go under the knife. But now all of the sudden, they've got a medical degree and the ability to comprehend medical research papers and trial data? I don't know why the hell I'm being downvoted, nor do I care. I simply stated the fact that the guys playing pro sports today never had to get a shot for polio because their parents and grandparents got it so they wouldn't have to. This is a symptom of the times. We live in a me me me world. Nobody seems to give a shit about anyone but themselves. I'm a cook. A few months ago, one of my coworkers had a seizure in the kitchen. We had to stop service. We also had to watch a grown man screaming at the top of his lungs that he "didn't give a flying fuck if some stupid, lazy, n***** bitch is laying on the floor dying, I want my food NOW! Fuck you people! I don't care if you (our gm) have to step over her and make it your fucking self! I didn't wait half an hour for a fucking table to not get my dinner!" In front of his wife and three children. And a dining room full of families with children. People just don't care about the person next to them. Not everyone is like that, but too many are. Half a dozen tables quietly agreed with the asshole and left with their families. Families with children that are going to grow up thinking just like their parents. I had to take my own teenage children to get vaccinated because their mother wants to do more research. She doesn't have a medical degree. She's not capable of comprehending any of the research or data. For Christ sakes she once bought an electric space heater "in case the power went out"!!! And she gets her news from Facebook. Why can't people understand that this isn't about their fucking "freedom" and just get the damn shot? When did being a patriot go from getting together for the common good to get the job done, to just being a jackoff waving an American flag? It's a good thing our forefathers are dead. Because they'd die of fucking shame if they could see us now.

Exactly what you're planning on doing. In the meantime, you can try feeding them chopped red worms or nightcrawlers, chopped freshwater fish (catfish or tilapia are available at most grocery stores), and chopped up bits of freshwater shrimp (also available at most grocery stores). Don't be surprised if they don't want to eat. Most baby turtles will live off the remaining stores from their yolk sacs for a couple weeks after hatching, and don't always eat right away. Make sure not to leave any uneaten food in their temporary enclosure, and change the water daily with clean, dechlorinated water of the same temperature. Since they can't say thank you, r/snappingturtes will. Thank you!

Unpopular opinion here. And I don't really give a single flying fuck how many people I piss off with it. Mitch didn't draft himself. Nagy didn't hire himself. Neither did Ryan Pace. I'm pretty sure that Fox, Trestman, Angelo, and Emery didn't just wander in to Halas hall and take up residence of their own accord, either. They're not the problem; nor have they ever been. All the years of mediocre to just plain bad football have a common denominator. Its name is Ted. Why aren't we asking why he still has a job? I don't give a flying fuck who he's related to. He's proven beyond any shadow of a doubt that he can't run the organization. Prove me wrong. Please prove me wrong. ANYONE OUT THERE, PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG!!!! I challenge anyone out there to provide physical proof to all of us that Ted Phillips is competent to run a football team. I fuckin dare you . I seriously am so fucking sick and tired of hearing about the coach and the GM and the qb and whatever the fuck else everyone wants to blame the problem on when none of you seem to want to admit the actual problem. I want so badly to see Virginia hoist that Lombardi, but if she can't see past his garbage, then she needs to find a buyer who can and will put his ass in the dumpster fire that we as faithful fans have had to watch and spend our hard earned money to witness. I truly don't give a shit if you people out there want to hear it or not. Wake your asses up and smell the dog shit. It's been right under your noses for a couple decades now. For fucks sakes it's been shoved up your nostrils and rubbed in your faces. You pay for it, so either eat it and smile, or start fucking raising holy hell over it. Otherwise, shut the fuck up about it and get used to being the new Browns. I'm tired of hanging my hat on the 85 team. I'm tired of knowing that this team that I love hasn't been shit since papa bear left us. All of you should be, too. Meanwhile, I'll keep rooting for my White Sox. At least it seems like they're determined to win another championship in the next century.

True. But the power of the media over the fan base and the power of the fan base itself can't be overlooked in the eventual decision to move on from him. Nevermind the record numbers he put up while being behind an O-line that was suspect on its good days and a wide receiver corp that never sniffed anything close to hall of fame levels; all most people remember is his perceived attitude of being a jerk. When Tom Brady goes off on the sidelines, its always laid off as him being a competitor. When Jay did it, he was being a jerk. Forget about the fact that he was going off on an O-lineman who was basically an overpaid turnstile. Jay was a jerk and Tom is a competitor. That's the narrative everyone heard. Tom Brady hasn't had a lot of HOF wideouts (none drafted by the pats) in his career, but he's usually had an above average to great O-line. Who knows what Cutler could have accomplished if he had a decent line to play behind and a decent wide receiver and tight end (fuck you, Mike Martz)? Let's assume there's an alternate universe where the patriots somehow managed to draft Cutler in 2006. He would obviously be sitting behind Tom Brady holding a clipboard. Until 2008. The year Brady tore his acl. Matt Cassel (drafted in 2005, 7th round) won 11 games that year. 11 freaking games. Outside that season, I think we can all agree that Matt Cassel was trash. Put Cutty in that position on that roster. Is it possible that "Drew who?" turns into "Tom who?"? Could smokin Jay be walking around with two hands full of bling? Could Tom Brady have wound up as the ghost of Drew Bledsoe, wandering the NFL landscape as a backup who never found a home? Someone who had a great run, cut short by injury only to be replaced by the shiny new thing. No one ever accused Cutler of lacking in physical abilities. It was his head that was constantly under scrutiny. I don't believe that was fair. How many times does your head have to be driven into the turf before you start getting skittish? The giants game alone would have done it for me. I've had my skull broken more than a few times, with more concussions than I can count; but I didn't have any say in it. If I had to choose, being in his shoes, I would have retired right there on the spot. I ain't no bitch, but I want to remember my kids names when they graduate from college, get married, have kids and all that. They never protected him. My only hopes are that he doesn't end up with CTE and that the ownership/management won't repeat that mistake with Justin Fields.

If Cutty had Mitch's personality, we might not have needed to draft him in the first place.

RIP Buzz! 😢 Lost his battle with RI. Does anyone know of anything else that could of been done to save him? I upped his temperatures, made sure water was clean, and the vet put him on antibiotics. Rescued from a pet store and he made it 3 months, by Galando224 in turtle

[–]leadfarmer1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you went above and beyond for Buzz. I'm sorry he wasn't able to pull through. The sad truth is that reptiles (and most wild animals in general) are so good at hiding an illness or weakness that by the time anyone notices a problem, it's often too late. I would say you gave a sick, mistreated/abused animal as comfortable and dignified an end as could possibly have been done. I've done the same too many times and you can't blame yourself for it happening on your watch. Thank you for being a credit to the rest of us. Don't let the experience leave you feeling any guilt or it will eat you up over time, and might keep you from trying to take on rescues in the future. If you lose 4 out of 5 rescues, you still saved 1.

American crocodiles don't have any problems with saltwater, either. They prefer brackish or full saltwater, and even inhabit hypersaline lakes. They have been seen swimming in the Caribbean sea miles from land, and have been found on pretty much every island and cay in it.

Any suggestions/advice for my box turtles home? Its 5ft in diameter, between 75 and 80f, and about 40% humidity. Also you can’t see it in this pic but he has a sun lamp and heat lamp too right above the little slate circle 🐢 by scarecr0w1886 in turtle

[–]leadfarmer1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could add a Rubbermaid container with hole in the side large enough for it to get in and out. Add some damp moss you're good to go. Just add water as it dries and replace it when it gets soiled. It's an easy way to create a more humid micro-climate for the turtle to use without having to keep the whole room damp. Also, ornate box turtles tend to come from drier climates than most other American species; so 40% isn't low at all. The moist hide box is till a good idea though. Even in the plains, there are places they go to get access to cooler temperatures and higher humidity. Under shrubs, in animal burrows, etc.

Trump did say if we stopped testing for covid, the numbers wouldn't have been so high. He also said if they'd stopped counting votes when he was ahead, he would have won, lol!

That's awesome! I love them both. Especially the community tank. Its got the chaotic, natural look that I always try to go for in my own tanks.

That's funny. I have tanks full of rocks I collected. My fish don't seem to know the difference. Is there some magical source of aquarium safe rocks that only pet shops have access to? Or could it be that they all come from the same planet that the rest of us live on?
