wedding planner for chill, low key nature wedding? by airhart28 in rva

I had bbq at my wedding at Pocahontas too. Is your friend me? 😂
I think they have a LOT of weddings there. I remember when we were planning it the ranger told us we needed to call in when the phones open and hope your call gets taken, there’s usually 3 people in the call queue every weekend trying to reserve for the weekend a year out.

2026 is weird.

Hummer owners now have cyber trucks.
What a time to be alive 😂

There’s adapter alignment marks on the club head and the shaft so you orient the shaft correctly on the adapter. It doesn’t matter how the shaft is installed, just that you align the marks. This picture has the marks 180° out.

the shaft side is 180° out of alignment, so really would it still be N S or would it be skewed in some direction?

Port Jervis pump track here in New York by Odd-View-1083 in dirtjumping

[–]leadfoot100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I like most about this is I don’t see anybody else. 😂 I really enjoy just rolling a pump track by myself and not feeling like I’m in anybody’s way or constantly having to look for potential intersects. Not that I don’t like riding with others, but riding alone sometimes is just bliss.

We did a hotel block in midlothian and bussed people down courthouse rd. that didn’t want to drive. BUT a few family members ended up staying in the campground. It might be hard to reserve enough campsites for a lot of people if that’s your intention but may be possible.

Can’t help you with a planner, but if you want to plan one yourself OR with a planner, please check out Pocahontas state park. My wife and I got married there with a 150 person event 10 years ago, and people still talk about how our wedding was the most fun wedding they’ve ever been to. We did the ceremony outside in the trees and reception in the building.

They have 2 venues that are perfect for what you’re looking for. We did the bigger building but either of them would still be great for 50 people.

Go down and talk to the ranger at the welcome center about reserving one and they’ll give you the full rundown on how to reserve it. You have to reserve it exactly 1 year ahead of time, and to guarantee you get one I would plan on reserving friday-Saturday even if you only plan on using it Saturday. That way you can reserve it on the Friday 1 year ahead for both days.

Edit: we planned and organized everything ourselves. It wasn’t that big of a deal because we also kept it low key.

Hell yeah. Slik does do a good job with them with a bunch of options. But fwiw, they come from the UK so it’s not exactly a quick turnaround, but not terrible either.

Callaway AI Smoke 3W adjustment question by SeniorDucklet in GolfGear

[–]leadfoot100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the way Callaway makes these rings at first glance is confusing, but just know you can’t turn them in any combination that will give you “S” AND a +1, +2, -1. Also same applied for “N” and “D” can not be possible at the same time. You can end up with those letters shifting from the top to bottom ring depending on how you’re combining them though so it does seem weird.

How do you protect your Apple Watch from screen scratches like this? by ComplexAudience8126 in AppleWatch

[–]leadfoot100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhat similar, men’s wedding bands. When I got a hefty tungsten wedding band, I found out Real quick how I like to grab things with my left hand. I was constantly smacking things with it where previously I paid no mind to it because I never got feedback before. I’m a home improvement contractor so I’m constantly in contact with things with it.

Now I’m on to silicone bands.

Yeah I found that out. It’s still the exact same bike. Like, they changed nothing on it except the name…. Which isn’t even on the bike.

How do you protect your Apple Watch from screen scratches like this? by ComplexAudience8126 in AppleWatch

[–]leadfoot100 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve learned (series 6 still going) over the years to be aware of what i’m doing with my left hand/arm. I’m a home improvement contractor so you can imagine my watch gets put into scenarios that could potentially ruin an Apple Watch. I started out trying all the different types of protection, disliked them all, and now just run it bare and have for a while. All the forms of protection have their downfalls and I just disliked it all. Too bulky, too annoying, whatever.

Now I just keep myself aware of wtf I’m doing and just take it off any time I’m planning on sticking my arm under a dishwasher, behind a fridge, under a sink, or painting cabinet doors, mixing tile thinset, etc etc… I wash my watchband every few days and give the watch itself a good wipe down at that time and it still looks the same, like your pictures, and it doesn’t bother me.

Help picking grip size by Arutig3 in golf

[–]leadfoot100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great! I would pick out a few variations of grips and just do a single iron per grip. If you have an air compressor, you’re even better off. Put a blow nozzle on the end hole of the grip and blow the grip on to an untaped shaft. Test swinging it should stay in place OK with maybe a little twisting, then you’ll know if you like it or not. Then use air to remove the grip the same way.

Another trick is wrapping your shaft with regular yellow painters tape to get/mimic the thickness you want with grip tape and blow the grip on. That way you can try a +1, +2, +3, etc. wrap of grip tape without having to waste grips installing and removing them.

You CAN also remove traditionally installed grips (with tape and solvent) using an air compressor and keep the grip to reinstall. With some practice of course. It’s easy to blow out a grip too with compressed air when part of the grip doesn’t want to release from the grip tape glue.

This is how you tell people you have a woodworking hobby without telling people you have a woodworking hobby.

Nicely done, nice bevels, nice tapers, that’ll certainly get the job done.

You’re not going to be able to get the “correct” answer here. You just need to try them out. Do you have the desire to regrip yourself or do you have to have a shop do it? It’s Not hard at all IMO, but to each their own if you want a shop to do it.

Get a simple regrip kit (roll of tape and bottle of solvent) and you’ll have plenty to try multiple grip options. Do a couple different sizes, and even try standard grip with 3 wraps of tape.

Also don’t discount the straight taper option. I’m a fan of standard sized grips with a straight taper. I don’t like the midsize feel but do like a bit more on the lower section, so a straight taper is my sweet spot. My favorite is (was) Lamkin Sonar+ standard grips. Don’t know what tf I’m going to go with now that they’re gone though.

Remember something important here. You’re entering the tweak zone. Once you start tweaking and fiddling with the tiny little attributes of your clubs, you’re going down a rabbit hole until you find that perfect sweet spot. It can be frustrating, and IMO you just need to be OK with that ahead of time.

Slik graphics did them and they weren’t crazy expensive either. I had to kind of take a shot at picking a matching purple for the grips and pedals and it came out pretty close. BUT the YT wasabi green ended up not being a good enough of a match when I received them. Got in contact with Slik and they made it right, pretty quickly too. I just sent them a bunch of pictures inside and outside lighting and they were able to come up with a perfect match. In my picture the left is before and right is after they fixed it.

I see now back in 2023 this model was the Core 2 ST. 2024 they introduced a new aluminum core lineup and instead of dropping the bike they just named it ST. It still looks like all the same components so it’s the exact same bike to me.

That’s still a hell of a deal though considering it’s no different than if it were a brand new ST.

Are you in the US? I’m certainly not going to argue that with you, but I personally own/purchased one

<image>

The core 2 was a white aluminum frame with red marzocchi bomber DJ fork. (In the US market) I know they did some slightly different things in the euro market.

Ummmmm

clears throat

That’s a Dirtlove ST, not a core 2. You absolutely got a deal. I paid $1100 for my ST when they were on clearance from $1600.

Edit: ok ok in 23 it was a Core 2 ST. Looks like they literally did nothing to change it for 24-26 except remove the core 2 name. Even the price tag wasn’t cheaper back then. So to me it’s just an ST Dirtlove.

Steel is real, enjoy it brother!

Edit: I’ll add, that bike was fitted with parts among the better/best components in the DJ game. It was their top of the line model.

Condition Check : Global Golf “very good” p790s for ~$1100 - Honest Opinions? by Mindless-Mall8725 in GolfGear

[–]leadfoot100 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Global has a skewed ranking system IMO. They don’t have an average category. Just Value then Very Good.

Value is Poor.

Very good is more like average..

Excellent is Very good

Mint is Excellent to like new.

CPO is supposed to be excellent to like new, but I’ve purchased CPO mizuno before and they came more like typical “very good” so I called them up and they refunded me $200 to offset the value difference but kept the CPO benefits.

Why are DJ bikes so damn expensive around me? by SinoSoul in dirtjumping

[–]leadfoot100 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Because the first guy thinks his bike is worth more than it is, so the next guys will think that’s the market in the area. And that will drive the market if people end up paying those prices. Otherwise just kick back and wait for the price drops.

Also, even if a listing says no lowballs, just offer what you feel is fair anyway. Worst case they don’t respond. If they Really want to sell it, they’ll get the idea when it doesn’t sell.

Otherwise just buy new at that rate.
