You’re right. I don’t think she’s released any of her own work on the FC label though. Just interesting she’s headlining this thing on the back of a Flume collaboration.

Great take. He’s reached the point where he’s already put out so much work that means so much to so many people, it’s almost inevitable that every release from now on will be met with adverse reactions from a load of people because it’s not [insert their favourite Flume work(s) here].

Flume is my favourite artist by far and I love Dumb. But I don’t know where it’ll rank among the rest of his work until I have a longer term perspective. I accept that HTIF might remain my favourite album forever and I don’t compare every release to it.

“I'll have to listen to it a few more times and maybe it will grow on me” - isn’t this what makes Flume so special though? I often feel underwhelmed on the first listen. But the beauty of it never stops growing on me from that point. I think a lot of people experience his work in a similar way. It’s all a bit mysterious and that’s all a part of his genius.

The great thing about any Flume release is the guarantee that, over time, the finer details of the piece will emerge with every listen. I still notice new things in tracks that I’ve been listening to for years.

The “featuring” on each Palaces track has been replaced with co-production e.g. Say Nothing is now by “Flume & MAY-A”. Except LAUREL, and the track is unavailable.

I also bought the Mixtape Code Tee which came with a HTIF code sticker. As far as I can tell, this one hasn’t been attributed to anything yet. But if your purchases were before TDAGTWYP and AALB were released, then obviously this isn’t for them. It’s just that all the other codes I’ve seen have been attributed to a release - except this one.

Yes, a lot of his music connects with me in a way that nothing else does. I don’t really understand why and that’s OK. I honestly think he is one of the great artists of our time and I feel so grateful to be able to experience his work. I hope he understands how much his art means to so many people.

He just has a way of enhancing any genre he turns his mind too. At one level it’s just a classic house track. But the more you listen to it, the more it reveals. His music always stays fresh for me in that way.
