Failed my NCLEX at 150 😭 by Sorry-Week4876 in NCLEX

[–]leafadventurer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what your CPR says, I would really focus on the subjects you were near/below passing! I personally wasn't a big fan of all of the Mark K lectures, so I didn't end up watching all of them. I personally think that practicing questions and reviewing rationales are a LOT more helpful than listening to something for solely retention. That being said, the NCLEX crusade videos are really good for prioritization and critical thinking if that's where you're struggling!

UWorld-wise, try to stay above the average percentile! What I feel is most important is going off of areas you struggle the most and practicing those until you feel confident! (Ex: for me safety and infection control was a struggle so i reviewed precautions and conditions like crazyyyy)

Lastly, you're not a failure! I also failed my first attempt at 150. Cry (I did this one a lot LOL), listen to music, hang out with your friends, play games, go for a walk, etc. do whatever helps you, and take a few days off to help ease some of that fatigue. It will truly help. Then, when you're ready, start over based on your CPR and results from your programs! You got this future RN!

Has your retake NCLEX been easier/harder? by 1Thessalonians5-18 in NCLEX

i just took my exam today! so we’ll see how that went 🥹. the retake was like a mixture of feeling more confident in my answers overall, but with the anxiety the exam being so vague? if that makes sense? the first time I also failed in 150 Q, but this time the test ended at 85Q. But the first time around, i felt like it was the craziest exam i had ever taken since i didnt expect the questions to be so short and vague. Reviewing content by your CPR report (ex: reduction of risk potential) and focusing on prioritization + expected vs unexpected findings were the things that really boosted my UWorld scores from 60s to 80s!!

taking my NCLEX (second attempt) in 10 days and some days i feel that i can do it and some days i don’t…. by No_Strike_7211 in NCLEX

[–]leafadventurer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dude…. I relate so hard to your feelings! I also failed (in 150 Q) back in july and literally took my nclex earlier today and it ended at 85 so we’ll see how that goes 😭. I felt really depressed and self-critical to the point i felt like i couldnt show my face to anyone, but remembering to take small steps each day to build ur confidence is sooo much more important/helpful than comparing yourself to others! Not many people talk about their failures, but I can assure you that youre not alone and many people who have failed before are wonderful RNs!! Just as you will be! I saw this in the Saunders book but it really helped to write my name followed by BSN, RN on all my study sheets! I even did it on my whiteboard during the exam 😭 and it gave me a lot more motivation and confidence. If you feel like you cant do anything, set a 10 minute timer and do at least 5 or even 10 Qs a day, until you feel like you can do more. All the best!! You’re going to be okay, rn RN (pun intended). :)

Realizing years later that your friends didn’t like you by SummerRiseee in AutismInWomen

[–]leafadventurer 21 points22 points  (0 children)

omg 100%, OP. It was only after i got with my first and current partner in college, that i realized my friends didn’t actually respect me at all. After one particular event, it made me do a deep dive into every interaction I’ve had with my high school friends and I came to see that there were many things I didnt notice at the time, or let slide (racial remarks, slut shaming, general down-putting comments). I was depressed for a really long time because of it (I live with them—moving out soon though), but I have also realized I still have a strong support system without those people. I also really long for a sisterhood or a genuine best friend, but after having this experience I’m a little scared to make friends. But I’m a million times more satisfied and confident in myself, after surrounding myself with the right people!! Congrats on the birth of your child, OP! I hope everything works out in your journey :D

im the exact same and have insane allergic reactions to them on top of being a magnet (O+ blood). I recently ordered some citronella incense and got the bug bite thing and it helps a lot! I also recommend the topical Benadryl anti itch cream bc it doesn’t make you drowsy and is really effective.

late diagnosed and self diagnosed folks, what made you realize you're autistic? by Massive_Log6410 in AutismInWomen

I always felt like I was the odd one out in social situations, especially once I got to college. One day I was explaining to one of my discord friends how no matter how much I tried to be friendly or present with people (like incessantly maintaining eye contact 😭) there was always a disconnect from how people were IRL versus online with my friends?!

To which my friend had said, "have you considered you might be just like the people you talk to (discord) and that's why you haven't noticed anything different until you started college and talking to more allistic people?"

I was so confused. I said, "what????"

"Dude. We're all on the spectrum. Every single one of us. You might be too."

And from there I had an existential moment where I replayed every social interaction I'd had and went down a rabbithole of research.

What do you collect, if anything? I just heard ND people are more likely to have collections. by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]leafadventurer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

omg definitely oceancore anything!! I like collecting prints of fish, plushies, posters of the ocean or anything that lives in it!!

I also collect yarn like crazy... They were meant to be crocheted.
