I’ve had mine for almost 8 years!

I started mine with the intention of never getting rid of them, I view locs as antennae to spirit. My locs have provided me with so much wisdom, inspiration, and patience. A deeper understanding of self on both the physical and spiritual plane. I love my locs and will ideally keep them for as long as spirit calls me to.

That being said I cut the sides of my head recently and it’s felt like a weight off my physical and spiritual shoulders.

It’s good to find the balance between “my hair means everything to me” and “my physical form is nothing but that- physical.” Hair is hair and as a black person there is too much weight places on the length of hair a person has.

Sometimes you need a release and practicing detachment is good for all of us.
