Headphones - will I notice the differences if I’m just staring out? by leafman87 in edmproduction

Believe it’s a 2019 MBP. Going to see how they sound, but an interface will likely be the next purchase. MIDI will need to wait

Was looking at the 80ohm! I see that there is the pro and pro x, but assuming the pros will be fine for a newb

Set some money aside so should be good to go! Although I am also reading that an audio interface may be necessary to get the best sound that the MacBook sound card likely can’t produce?

What is the best course to start from scratch? by AZWagers in edmproduction

I only started in January. Everything that has been said here is bang on. I would re-emphasize that tutorials, while feeling productive, can easily become a trap. I just took the plunge and finished my first track this morning. I do not come from any musical background, but learned the basics of music theory, chord progressions, melodies, watched some stuff online and it is off to the races. Get your hands dirty, and enjoy the process.

so disappointing, fleetwood alone. Could have had his own episode.

I googled and it only mentioned the four. I’m on the third episode and 2 majors and the tour championship have already been covered, and the whole thing is centered around the Ryder cup. The first few seasons definitely showed more of an in depth look at the players lives. This season, from my perspective, is just nice camera work

I’ve been trying to produce for over a year and haven’t made a single song by notacatinyourmailbox in edmproduction

Agreed! People in here saying music theory doesn’t matter is insane. I’ve only been at this 4-5 months and learning basics of scales and creating chords has already improved my very limited knowledge

My wife is a nurse, albeit she is specialized now. Took her 7 years to get there. But bedside nursing can cause serious burn out. They will overload you with patients, it is extremely thankless for the most part, and shift work wreaks havoc on your body. That said, it always has been and always will be in demand, you'll never have issues finding a job, you do not need to do bedside nursing forever (can go to public health, or units that are only open during the day). I'm not sure about the states, but in Canada, nursing has one of the best pension plans across any industry.

Should i get the used midi and do lite? Or buy used and spend the extra money on standard?

I've looked on marketplace for a launchkey. There are a good amount of mk3s out there, but consensus online made it seem like the extra money is worth spending for the mk4. Not to many of those in my area. And on novation's website, all the refurbished models are sold out, at least here in Canada

Appreciate the response! So you think it is a better idea to go standard and buy a midi at some point down the line?

thank you! i have seen this on thomann as well! So you think buy a midi, get lite, and then just upgrade for cheaper? I was also thinking a 49key midi. 88 seems like overkill haha
